The closest I've come to being a farmer, is my 3 tomato plants on my back patio, and this Georgia heat is not helping my goals. Still, I have so much respect for you guys...and when I saw that lip tremble a little bit, I too felt like crying. Seeing LB standing out there, looking over his failed crop, I wondered what could be going through his mind. I'm sending you guys, and all farmers out there extra prayers.

I learned to grow stuff, from my grandfather. Dad got some new equipment from Sears. That was 72. I was a big kid. I was 180 at 13-14. So I learned to run the machines. Bub - my grandfather - taught us to till the heck out of the ground. Then plant [and pray it worked.] Well - we got a harvest that was more than nothing, so it was success. 45 yrs later - this spring - I started the same thing. Your sad beans look better than mine - and my soil is jet black. And Days after I planted - I came across Gabe Brown - Bismark ND and his ideas. They changed my mind in a short few days. I am 1500 miles north of you and have 22 inches of rain a year. Some arrives as 3 feet of snow. Some ask how much snow. Well when a Skidoo goes thru the solid layer of snow and gets buried - they tie the skidoo to a tree. Going back with a log-skidder, the machines are 24 ft up in the trees. I wish you well - Faith is something we never lose - even when it looks like a gamble. PS - What was different in that last field - compared to the others that did not do well!

What I’ve learned in life is that sometimes we need to be reminded of what’s important in life. In the end it’s the love that you share and the love that’s in your life that is most valuable. You have many treasures in your life and they have nothing to do with material things. Live everyday like that’s all that matters and you will find happiness. As cliché as it sounds show gratitude for what you have and blessings will find their way to you.

My hearts goes out to y’all. Here in Texas it been extremely dry and we’re now seeing long lines at the sale barns because the ranchers can’t feed them. No hay this yr and crops are very poor. Hopefully wild fires won’t destroy the open grazing land. So we share in your loss Praying for rain and y’all’s ability to recovery and keep pressing on.

Hello Benard family from Quincy Illinois first off have you had the soil tested maybe it’s needing lime brought in and spread across the fields or manure from maybe your neighbors with extra manure. Yes the last beans looked good. Don’t give up yet on other beans. Wesley and Austin are looking good and healthy, Lawrence looks like he could use more fishing days. Meredith your cooking is so beautiful and appreciated I watched where you cut up all the vegetables in your grinder machine after you found the last part. I really appreciate all your videos and stuff for I will keep praying for you all and your fields. I’m guessing the river bottoms are needing nutrients in the ground maybe other fields too. God Bless y’all 🎗✌️🤗😇🙏🎚🇺🇸💖❤️🎚🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Sorry to here that your crops didn't come up. Praying you will do ok without it. We know to well. How it is to loss something growing and lose money on it. That means not the same amount of money to live on. Maybe having to cut back on everything. But the difference in what you loss and us. Is that you plant crop we us to raise animals. When I was a kid we did raise tobacco. But it just cover the land taxes that it. So the best thing we did was to pray God would help us through another hard year. Good bless you all. We are praying for you all.

Hello Bernard family, I hope and pray that you all are doing well and healthy happy and safe. I'm truly very sorry about your bean crops. My grandfather was a farmer. He use to say, when it come to crops, you would be lucky to break even. I was wondering. Did you guys use that different fertilizer on your beans. There is new stuff out there, that ain't worth a hill of beans, it feeds the grass and weeds , not the crops. You all are always in my prayers and thoughts. Peace be with you all

I'm sure LB has seen other crop loses in his life time. Most farming in my area of NE Oklahoma has gone out western part of the state where crops can be irrigated when needed. We average around 40" rain per year but half that may come in a 6-7 week period washing crops away with long stretches of no rain in 105-108 heat with 30 mph winds drying the earth out. Farming is truly a gamble with mother nature...hang in there mis'sus B and trust LB.

Tough luck on your bean crop. I hate that for y'all. When I helped my Pa Pa on his wheat farm in Oklahoma we would disc the ground right after harvest plus another 2 to 3 times more before sowing wheat in the fall. Also here in Texas where I live the farmers disc the ground before they plant soy beans. I haven't seen y'all work the ground and was curious why don't you?

If I get bad season on the beans for the same reason I drag the field and put in oats ! I'm in Wisconsin and our season for beans will not allow another planting . I would rather have some thing than nothing . I did hit the jack pot in 2020 when we got hit and the oat supply went down and put 70 acre,s into oats ! Did have a wind storm that knocked a lot down but still made money ! A farmers life is all about risks . Never gonna change ! Try again then roll that beautiful bean footage if you decide to make it happen .

So sorry about your crops. So many farmers are having a tough time. The action barns are full of cattle that ranchers are dumping because there is no grass and feed and hey is to expensive. Food prices are going to keep going up next year because there is a lag in what is produced and when it hits the market. Cattle herds will be smaller and producing less next year. Even if the drought stops, ranchers will have to hold on to there heifers to rebuild there herds next year. Not looking good at all.

Although it is always painful to see your Crops struggling there is one thing to consider . It's better to have a early season disaster instead of spending money on them all year only to have a hurricane come in and wipe them out right before harvest . I don't know if Lerwance has tried dual magnum herbicide it works wonders for us down here in Louisiana it can be added into his burn down to control future grass and some weeds .
