What did you think of this unique house? Let us know in the comments!

Boring. It would make a good medical facility maybe. I expected to see the fire pole remaining and the interior showing some brick. Nothing to show it is a historic building except the photos. Too sterile. Sorry for the negative comment but you did ask.

@Mr. Man yes, very good presentation. Ken just gets better and better. The camera person is also doing a great job.

Love your videos! But gosh, the inside of this one made me feel really sad. It seems to have lost its heart and soul. As an art lover myself I’m perplexed as to why a great architect wasn’t employed to help keep the character and life of this historic building. Thanks for sharing. 💜

Hopefully the next owners will bring some of that charm back.

Perfectly put. It just seems cold, empty and bedraggled.

I guess in a big city like St Louis, making it a modern office building with no character left is the only option. glad the building was saved, sad it's lost all it's historical context.
@rhietpas3 жыл бұрын
Well, I guess I wouldn't call St. Louis a big city... but regardless I don't think you HAVE to lose character. I've seen converted spaces keep a ton of it.

Its alright, but seem to have removed all the uniqueness and character from it.

It is beautiful. A friend lived in a remolded fire house , near Sydney St . I did not know her until after she moved . I understand it was very well done.There are many, many old firehouses, in St. Louis.

Interesting home, kind of disappointed that there isn’t a fireman’s pole from the top floor to the bottom! :)

You did the best you could with what you had! Ok agree with everyone else on this one. I was expecting bright, cheerful and cheeky. Or at least really vintage. Sad that whoever owned this didn’t even care enough to replace the switch and plug plates with white ones to blend with the walls. As for the bathrooms, they aren’t cool and retro - they’re just old. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got coming up! I love your channel and your mission.

Now you know, it looks like a raw whitewashed art gallery with no character, ugly exposed ducts, wiring and pipes, totally devoid of the historic interier it had. Wait until they have to repoint the bricks, it generally can run about $25 a square foot. And the flat roof is nothing but trouble, I know, I had to repair many of them in NYC

Old Fire house = 899,000. Living smack dab in the middle of a murder capital = priceless. Too bad whoever owned it destroyed it's soul. Hoping the new owners revive it.

Why didn't the owners just build a square white block to live in? Who takes out firepoles? 0 charm, 0 character

That’s a really cool space, I bet they get a fortune for it. If I were to own it I would want to remodel the whole thing into something more period looking and pay tribute to the fire station, I would definitely want to have the fire pole out back in. Thanks for sharing once again. This place is really going to need the right person who can take advantage of that huge gallery downstairs, if you were a custom furniture maker it would be a great place to display your work with plenty of room for a workshop as well.

You would be a great realtor! I really appreciate being able to see the place. I agree with the majority that the place is drab. It's "hospital", "white", and boring. Maybe they made everything white to sell it?? I understand what they tried to do, it's just that everything is very generic. Not worth the price they're asking. The cabinets had cheap handles, the shower heads were cheap, etc. Don't take my disappointment in this particular place as my disappointment in your channel. I honestly love checking out what you provide and am eager to see what's next! Thank you!

@@sonza68 yep, if I had the place, every bit of crap from the lower level would have been torn out and made back into one big garage space! We were even close to buying the old firehouse in U City last year, but someone else made an offer right after we became aware it was for sale. That one even had one of the poles left. unfortunately property taxes were like 12k/yr!! We would have had to try and get it re-zoned residential or something
