I'm gonna get the M-Audio Oxygen Pro 25. Which is very similar to the FL Key. I think the pads are better on the M-Audio, there's less keys but does the exact same things as the FL Key.

I am getting it, the fl key 37 🙌 I have akai mk2 mini and akai fire at the moment, the one i like the most is the akai fire, but that do not have key velocity and the akai mini is a little too small keys for my taste and also feel a bit too cheap.. So this seems like the optimal midi keys for me.

@@Static.Display Check out the oxygen pro line up from M-Audio they have full semi weighted keys, velocity, after touch, Scale/Chord guides, bigger pads, full stop, play & record functionality from the keyboard just a lot packed into one midi. I highly recommend them 💯

@@ASAPJermz you won't have the pads channel rack mode but I have a template that will give you that functionality then yeah you're right and you can use other DAWs with it. Good idea.

if anyone has issues with modes not working, press "refresh device list" at the bottom left of midi settings and that is what helped me. Thanks for the video brotha!

This video saved me! I had such problems not knowing why after a reinstall my flkeys stopped working. Out of the box it worked fine, but after the reinstall, only the trigger keys worked and the sliders, knobs and other functional keys did not. But applying the settings you provide here fixed it! Thank you!

Thank you. Mine lost some functions after a update. After switching the ports to the correct numbers it fixed it. Now its back to full functionality.

You can customize the custom features to work with any 3rd party vst using the button CC. Some take a little while but once you have it setup for your favorite plugins you can select your custom presets all from the keyboard. As far as the note repeat hold down the button and look on top of your keys for velocity speed. The keyboard is nice I still need to do a lot more customization to make the work flow a lot better.

For me coming over to FL this would help my learning curve. I have the Novation keys 61 mk3. I have dedicated controllers for my other DAWs. I just want to build my resume as a versatile producer so I’m glad I made the plunge today 😊

Hey Al, thanks for the quick review! I don't own one yet, but I do own a Korg Taktile 49 that has an XY trackpad with 2 buttons below it. This pad has a double function because it also works as a mouse. I really wish they added that to the new FL controller. Also, I find 37 keys is to little to play comfortably.

I had the Taktile 49. I "upgraded" to Arturia Keylab 49 MK2 and sold my Korg. Oh how I miss my Taktile. The keylab does NOT play nicely with FL studio. Have spent hours trying different things. Emails to Arturia and imageline forum. Arturia is aware of the problem and has plans to release an official script. I've been waiting since December 2021 for that though. Long story short, The Taktile is a fantastic keyboard and I wish I'd never sold it!

I would recommend waiting on an FLKey if you are committed to FL studio as your DAW. If you are not sure on your DAW I would look at the M audio oxygen pro line of keyboards as they integrate nicely with most major DAWs. I have videos on those too 🤓

Thanks for the video! I've been using an Oxygen Pro 49, but it doesn't integrate well with FL (my only DAW). Simple things like the transport controls just don't work properly. I've been considering replacing that or just adding this one to my setup. I already have an Akai Fire... We'll see.

you can update the midi scripts with previous versions. You just have to do it manually. I use the KeyLab MKII to control the daw, mixer, and plugins without hitting the USER tab on the keyboard

For FL Studio, is there any difference between using the FLkey mini and the Launchkey mini with FLS template? The hardware looks identical but the Launchkey mini is cheaper, has an arpeggiator and also offers integration with multiple DAWs out of the box. I don't have either one right now. I'm really interested in the FLkey mini, but it looks like a simple software update could easily turn the Launchkey mini into an FLkey mini and I don't want to pay extra for less functionality...

There are some scripts that Novation released for the Launchkey MK3 and the Launchkey Mini MK3. Between those and the FLS templates there should be a lot of functionality. I always recommend the FLKey if you only use FL studio and need a new keyboard. If you use other DAWs I would just get an oxygen pro series keyboard

My FLKey Mini is unable to switch modes. If I hold shift and select any mode, nothing happens. It's always on custom for some reason.

M audio as a whole if you use other DAWs. If you only use FL then the FLKey is it.

How do you ovecome the insane latency issue using the standard FL Key ASIO? I tried switching to asio4all but I get no sound out of the headphones

I don’t use that driver at all. You can find 3rd party drivers like BananaMeeter and try that though it’s a bit confusing at first. I really advise a external audio device that will come with its own, lower latency driver.

I just picked up an FL Key Mini, everything worked just fine on my PC but I can't get the "Controller Type" menu to display any of the (user) drivers on my laptop so I have super limited functionality at the moment. Any ideas? I've redownloaded and installed the drivers from Novation's website 6 times but still no luck. Keys work fine but I can't access the pad modes
