I have the S15 Vivobook from 2019 and it's been my wife's daily driver since I transitioned to Apple land. It has been a solid, reliable laptop for her so I've been considering this new Vivobook as a replacement for her, so thanks for the review.

The part u mentioned about the storage is incorrect, it tests different types of read/write. Being sequential/random/different Q depth etc … This absolutely also slows down on the macbook, the test you keep running on the macbook is only sequential and no random 4k read/write.

If I ventured into Windows land, I would still prefer the AMD version of the S15 (AKA S16) as that offers no compromises (like Google Drive and my VPN not working). Anyway, I see no reason to buy the S15 over a Macbook, especially as the Mac currently has fewer compatibility issues and a superior GPU. However, with the M4 coming, the Mac is a no-brainer choice for those who are not anti-Apple. Still, the device is nicely specced, although I would never buy another laptop with a keypad, and I prefer 16:10 rather than this, which, as the marketing pushes, is targeted more for media consumption--the price is fair for what you get at £1299 in the UK.

Harman Kardon was a high end speaker manufacturer. They also owned Bang & Olufsen and AKG. Sadly Samsung acquired them in 2017 and now they produce mostly consumer grade relatively ok stuff. JBL is also a Harman Kardon subsidiary.

I was going to say I have a bmw from 2018 with harmony and kardon but speaker layout from before samsung acquired them and they are incredible

You should try the surface laptop 7th 15 inch feels very similar to MacBook Air ! I just wished I could understand macOS but paying for apps to have some basic features seems absurd to me..

I bought this. Three days later I noticed a horizontal stripe on the screen, corresponing to the raised edge between the keyboard and touchpad. The screen was damaged. I went back to the store asking for a new one. They said no, and sent it away for repair. Now they demand I pay €345 ($360) for replacing the screen, or pay €62 ($64) to get it back unrepaired. I’m so disappointed. It ruined my Christmas. I regret buying this laptop so much.

It depends on your editing software of choice as you know things like FCP only work on Macs

Hey, So I have quite a problem. The thing is I am an Engineering Undergrad currently in my first year. And my degree is a Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering which involves SolidWorks designing and near end of my degree I will also be using it for CFD and CEA Simulations. So all in all will this Laptop work? I know its an ARM based laptop but if SolidWorks can be run in MAC, why can't it be run in Windows ARM? Or I can go for another PC, but this is a novel PC, and I just want to experience it a bit. Please Reply. Thank You!

I would not recommend any laptop for that software. Honestly the best thing you could do and it would probably cheaper is to buy a computer. Some laptops won't even launch that program. I worked in it, I despise it lol. Got computer to work on my uni work, but I just bought vivobook s15 with the cheaper snapdragon. What I heard, is that autocad for example runs smoothly. Do what you will with that info 🎉

@@JuliusCorvinusouter case build quality on a MacBook is a lot different then a legion. While I think it’s a great laptop especially for gaming, the 5 isn’t known for the most premium build quality

You can't compare these laptops with the Macbook pro like comparing apples and oranges. The Macbook Pro is hundreds of dollars more!! I don't know why reviewers do this. It is not competing with the Macbook pro;'s maybe the Macbook Air. Too many people are doing reviews and not knowing their subject matter. It is very annoying

He never compared it with the MacBook Pro directly. He said it could be in the middle between a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro based on SOME specifications. Do you need subtitles?

The Vivobook come with tons of diffrent cpu's and ssd's so the speed issus are not actually any issuse and the little diffrance dosen't matter at all really and Vivobook have a Oled screen who are much better than the Retina on tne Macbook!

Още един кейс за употребата на 180 градусовата панта е примерно ако имаш на гости някой в офиса - разгръщаш лаптопа и обръщаш картината към него и му показваш неща. Фенси е, клиентите се кефят. Освен това като носиш лаптопа напред-назад и го разгръщаш не се притесняваш, че може да го нараниш.
