I have a simple setup that works for teleconferencing, a laptop on an inexpensive stand using the laptop's camera and mic. Definitely not high end, but it meets all my work needs.

Thanks for the insta360 link recommendation. I bought 2 and love them. ONE BIG ISSUE - the resolution drops to the lowest every time I start a new zoom call. Do you have this issue? I have used the presets but they do not adjust resolution. ANY SUGGESTIONS? Btw. I bought your desktop pad and love it. Great product.

I’ve noticed the same and I’m not sure how to force it to 4k by default. I usually open the Inata app once I launch Zoom to change it and then it stays

This was a really great video with valuable tips! It is amazing how much of an impact your background and audio can have on your personal/professional brand and how impactful you come across. I really struggle with meetings where someone is presenting and not wearing a headset or not using a more professional microphone as I struggle to hear and understand them. I can always hear the audio feedback from my own voice on their end as well and it gets so distracting! I currently use the Corsair HS80 max headphones for work but I might look into investing in the Elgato Wave: 3, it sounded great! 😊

Great Job, I’m stuck at my workstation with the equipment I use, but still learn a few tricks and tips. We use “MS Teams” headsets, noir sure the camera. I night try the standing desk idea. E , you are one of the best on You Tube at what you do!.

Funny enough the studio display mic sounds better than the 360 and as good as the elgato. It does also come with centre stage… I get the use case for the 360 but after trying the Opal C1, I’m sticking with the studio display as it’s the least hassle, and looks better than having something on top of my expensive monitor. Teams also doesn’t do 4K so the inbuilt cam is good enough. But appreciate the video 👍🏻

It’s not just the resolution that matters. Lighting, depth, colours, separation it all adds up to a much better representation

Which conferencing software are you using? I know zoom uses 720p-1080p resolution and any multi media designer knows that it’s always best to start with a higher resolution and compress down because if you are videoing at say 420p, but the viewer is using a higher resolution setup, it’s going to look grainy and pixelated. Very unprofessional. These kinds of details can actually make or break a sales deal or the acquisition of a new client. Just like E was saying about the fake backgrounds. Having a cleaner setup in the background is key to showcasing that you are a professional and can provide professional services.

You can monitor 'call health' in teams and video 'statistics' in zoom. Teams seems to cap out at 580p and hovers around that most of the time. If you have a paid zoom account *and* you raise a support ticket you can hit 1080p but it's rare - you have to be full screen on the watcher's monitor and more common in 1 to 1 calls. In group calls 480p 30fps seems to be the max when you are speaking 180p 15fps is usual when not speaking.

It actually worked with my old work laptop but with the new one Microsoft teams won't find the input source with the software installed... Which is sad because I loved it before. Maybe someone here knows the solution?
