Prince William's First Steps For the Press (1983)

In December 1983, Prince William was joined by his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, and Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, as he took his first steps in front of the cameras in the garden of Kensington Palace. Prince William strode confidently up and down the garden and, when he'd had enough of the press, marched himself to the exit. The Prince of Wales also proved himself quick on his feet by swiftly intervening to prevent his son's escape. Charles and Diana posed with their son for a while on the garden bench, before thanking the press and taking William back inside.
Prince William's relationship with the press would not remain so straightforward. According to legal documents submitted by William's brother, Prince Harry, Rupert Murdoch’s News UK secretly paid Prince William a “very large sum of money” in 2020 to settle a phone-hacking claim the prince had made against the owner of the Sun and the News of the World. The Duke of Sussex submitted the documents as part of his own ongoing legal battle with News UK.

I would be saying that years ago and have people disagree with me. I thought surely I'm not the only one who sees it. It's gratifying to see others who see it, and the media also now mentions it. There's a video online where William sees a childhood photo of himself and can't believe how much he looks like Charlotte; he was even questioning if it was actually him. It looks like the same child. I could never understand how people couldn't see it.

It's easy to now see the marriage between these two, was deeply suffering. The difference between how the spouses interact - King Charles and Princes Diana vs. Prince William and Princes Catherine - is so incredibly different. It's lacking the genuine love and affection a happy, healthy marriage should have.

Their body language definitely differ. In Diana's facial expression, from time to time, you can see such unhappiness in her eyes, despite her smile. While I was watching Kate and Williams interview after they're engaged, I can tell they're nervous/anxious talking to the press, but they have more 'closeness' in between them, they have a 'rapport' while facing the press.

Not sure Diana was ever going to be happy no matter who she married. An interesting interview with a previous boyfriend revealed that even then she was still totally reliant on him, didn't want him to go to university lectures because she expected him to spend all his time with her rather than on studying for his future career (same with Charles, she wanted him to not work so as to spend all his time with her, which was never going to happen, allegedly this is also why the surgeon stopped seeing her because she expected him to put her before his patients, rather than saying ''sorry, can't take you to the party/film premier/ concert tonight as I've been called in to do an emergency operation'' she expected him to say ''I've told them I can't operate so I can still take you out'' and as a doctor that was never going to be acceptable). Different personalities who were never going to be a good match. Dodi probably would have been a good match for her as they both had similar views on life and enjoying themselves, unfortunately it also cost them their lives, if you learn anything from that it's WEAR YOUR SEATBELT.

Я в детстве была очень красивым ребенком. Один режиссер просил у мамы снять меня а художественном фильме что такую красоту должен увидеть мир, но мама отказала. Тогда меня сняли гуляющей в парке в центре города для какого-то документального журнала. Разумеется, я этот журнал никогда не видела, но в кинотеатрах этот журнал со мной показывали.. Мама меня всегда красиво одевала, когда шли гулять по городу и жуоналисты, причем много иностранных меня фоткали для каких-то журналов. Мама разрешала. А я так приаыкла к этому и спокойно относилась ко всеобщему вниманию. На удивление я умела позировать перед фотографами, хотя меня никто ничему не учил Мама даже удивлялась, где я этому могла научиться. А это была природа. Особенно любили со мной фотографироваться иностранцы, я спокойно фотографировалась с ними за шоколадку. Никакого стресса не испытывала. Давно всё забыла, даже стёрлось из памяти, мама однажды вспомнила. Так что ничего страшного нет для Уильяма в этой фотосессии. Успокойтесь.

I want to watch this video and see a cute baby walking. But all I see is a baby working without being aware of what’s even going on and 2 parents looking equally uncomfortable at the situation. I was struck by how many pictures were taken and how he is expected to perform like a puppet for the photographers. Then I realized I am also part of that problem bc I am clicking on this to watch it. I feel sad for the entire family that we do this to them.
