The only word I can think of for the interviewer is “tiresome”. Matthew is being so polite, even when she keeps crossing boundaries. And what’s with having him sit in that position? Sigh…

I don't think she did cross any boundaries. They were all fair and pleasant questions. I would argue that, for what ever reason, he clearly wasn't in the mood to be interviewed that day. But he should have been grateful that ITN were giving him and his play free airtime. Many producers and productions can't get that! I just hope the reporter didn't walk away no-longer the fan she obviously was at the start of the interview!

@@paulburton9386 at this time of his life Matthew was fed up on being asked questions on Friends, especially as he was trying to promote his play! The interviewer asked banal questions and should have done better.

This was in between his wasted shenanigans filming The Odd Couple and his colon exploding in 2018. He's very much in the throes of addiction/relapse at this point.

@@stitchgrimly6167No this was when he was starting in the play he wrote which was in the West End. I believe he was doing 8 performances a week, which would make anyone tired. On top of this he had to do all the publicity for the play including answering banal questions from this interviewer.

True Story--went into the mens room at a BBQ restaurant in Cincinnati. All the urinals had laminated pictures, one was the full cast of Friends. I laughed so hard my side ached. 😅
