How cartel money laundering works… literally walk into a HSBC branch with a duffel bag full of $10 bills. Tell them you’d like to deposit it all and they can keep a cut of the money. HSBC says ok, see you tomorrow with another duffel bag and we will try to make the counter a bit easier for you to pass such big piles of bills over. True story! What is the number of HSBC executives in prison for this blatantly obvious money laundering?… 0

Yeah, every industry and corporation and business and law enforcement agency and government is corrupt. Everyone likes to think the US are the good guys and everyone else is bad. Every human being is flawed and we all have a price, a number...that if you hit it, we will look the other way. I hate cops but if you gave me all that power, a gun, a badge and a license to murder and drug cartels approached me and said, hey just let us put our cocaine in your trunk and deliver it here every week or give us protection or arrest our competitors....and gave me a big pile of money to do it...not many people are going to turn that down. Everyone has a price. This guy in the video most definitely took a lot of money for himself. As much as he knew about money laundering, as confident as he was around really bad guys...no way he did all that for a regular employee check.

It is actually laundered though just because it's deposited into a bank? If the IRS asks 'where was this money earned', there still needs to be an answer and proof. That's where the laundering comes in.

Spot on. If the USA really cared about the addicts who are living on the pavement of every city, they would for-go their '''right'''' to live on the streets and force them into care. They would use some of all that confiscated cash to care for them. I am not into drugs of any kind; however, I do believe the whole issue, is jealousy of the cartels having all that money, it's not about the concern of the addicts. IF, the cartels were holding guns to anyone's head to buy, Then I could understand the '''war on drugs''''

@@LlywellynOBrien-- He risked his life, his freedom, and his whole family for nothing. Drugs for massive profit is still going strong. Without the guns manufactured in the USA for profit, and the ready market provided by the addicts, the Mexican security could easily have crushed the cartels a long time ago. Also, when their cash is confiscated, they recover it by robbing banks. So, it's all for nothing.

This guy holds a high paying, high skill job with the cartel, as a person on government salary? Assuming he can't take a salary from the cartel, why would someone do this risk and work for a relatively low government salary? A guy with a multi million dollar ceo skillset that can be legit, plus a master actor, on government salary. Doesn't line up.
@Blashmack
@Blashmack 9 ай бұрын
Because he doesn't get to do what he does as a CEO. You aren't working on high-stakes, international undercover operations leading up to legal cases which show up on the front pages of major newspapers as a CEO. That's what he feels his intelligence and skillset is best at. The work of a CEO is completely different. I think it's completely understandable and lines up perfectly, people don't just go for money, they go for the challenge.
@clearviewproducts
@clearviewproducts 9 ай бұрын
@@Blashmack Appreciate the reply. I get it, sort of. I would argue that he needs to know international finance laws and regulations, plus knowledge around getting around the system, plus he needs to act the part. Whatever skill title is put on it, CEO or other, it is seriously high skill he is no slouch. I get the challenge and money isn't a driver. Part of the point of the original post I suppose opens the dialog of what law enforcement goes through which one has to appreciate. Still though, very high risks for I assume a ~100k salary current day salary for a skillset that can get paid is a tough program to recruit agents; I would imagine. All thoughts said with appreciation for law enforcement, but the cartels can replace resources easily and cheaper in comparison to the FBI Agent's salary. Such an uphill battle.

Neither of the names in this video are his actual name. Who knows whether the voice is real or not. I guess probably. Also, most of the people who really want him dead are pretty old now. Probably not masters of open source intelligence.

the drug $ computer detail was spelled out in detail by the guy who did it all during senate hearings in the 80's but the "war on drugs" didnt do a thing about it. it was explained that the cartels back then didnt just control businesses but entire industries

If ppl like shows about stuff kinda like this, obviously The Wire is classic. I’ll assume ppl have seen that and similar classics like The Sopranos and BB and stuff. I’ll give some recommendations. One of the creators of The Wire did a mini series called We Own This City, it even has a cpl of the same actors. It’s good. Snowfall is solid. Mare of Easttown. Mindhunter. Then like I mentioned, We Own This City. There’s 4. They’re not all the same or extremely similar, but I love all the above mentioned classics and I love all of these. Figured I’d post this bc I’d love if ppl would give me recommendations! Hope you enjoy if you haven’t seen any of them.

I'll tell you how to money launder and win: become DEA 🤣 I know a couple agents retired after only 10 years into Eastern Oregon. Bought beautiful ranches, trucks, side-by-sides, fricken everything, but with cash it was peculiar 🤣

Don’t doubt that at all. I knew California CHP, sheriff deputies and Arizona HP and deputies that were all just waiting for the perfect “traffic stop”. Either large amount of cocaine or cash, preferably cash. They would just take it and say “Have a nice day” full well knowing there was so much of both that nobody would ever come looking for it. Traffic Lottery is what they called it. This was 80’s and 90’s so there weren’t cameras everywhere. Yeah, bunch of them retired early.

As much as this guy knew about money laundering and hung out with serious criminals, no way he didnt take a portion of that money he got his hands on for himself. No way he took all that risk for a government check every 2 weeks. This guy kept millions for himself and his family💯✋️👮‍♂️

The money they spent establishing his credibility would have been a fraction of what they seized as a result. Also, they didn't just blow it. They would have re-purposed or sold off everything after it served its purpose.

Don’t they usually use seized stuff? Obv not the diamond biz, but the cars like the RR, jewelry he prolly wore, cash, mansions, all that kinda fancy stuff. Idk how they setup a jewelry store lol. But them having Rolexes and Rolls Royces and huge houses etc. I think they come from raids or w/e.
