I live in a 2-story home, and I can look out a prominent window upstairs and see my neighbor's pool that is constantly neglected. It looks like this every winter ... and sometimes during the summer when they aren't maintaining it. I took care of it for them last summer when they went on vacation and I got the pH right after several days of hitting it with chemicals and watching the pool strips. I let my kids swim in it like the 3rd through the 10th day once everything was crystal clean and in-spec. It hasn't looked like that ever since. And yep, they have frogs, leaves, and algae. And they put it underneath a huge tree instead of putting it in the sun. Oh, and they just let anyone jump right in ... no spraying off, no shower ahead of time... it's just a free-for-all when they do use it.
