Right when I just got over this girl, LANY puts me right back at that stage. Honestly, I’ve been friends with this girl for over 2 years, and it wasn’t til later in the 2nd year when I caught feelings. After realizing how much we’ve clicked and how comfortable I was around her, she just felt so right for me. Her smile, her laugh, and pretty much all the moments we shared together, I knew this was the girl I wanted to keep close in my life. Long story short, stuff happened and things went downhill from there. We stopped talking for like a year, and I started talking to other people and somewhat made new friends because my life was, in a way, built around hers. I love my friends now, I really do, and I appreciate that they’re always there for me whenever I’m down. But for a while now, I’ve tried to forget about the bond we’ve shared in the past, and my new group of friends made it easier, but after listening to this song, nothing really compares to how I was and how I felt around her. Idk how I feel now, I guess I just miss her, and I miss how things used to be. Sorry if I’m wasting anybody’s time if they read this, this song just felt so relevant in my life, that’s all.

I've never been thankful for heartbreaks until LANY. Also, I can't thank Paul enough for opening up. A heartbreak is never easy no matter how long or short the relationship was, or whether or not there was a relationship in the first place, so long there was love, but as they say love hurts. If it didn't it's not love at all. So pain is the consequence and the price we pay for loving someone so deeply. It's nothing we should be shy about, we have to keep it real to deal with it. hearing the first few piano notes at the beginning of the song literally always takes me back to the first time i heard this song. i had just had my heart broken for the first time and i was on a late night drive with some friends. my friend driving put this song on and we all just went completely silent. the buildup in the song completely overwhelmed me. i looked out the window and just cried. that was the first time that it really hit me that the person i loved was no longer in my life. something about this song is absolutely heartbreaking, but also calming and hopeful. thank you LANY. 💕
