some people were just not committed as much as you were. The lyrics are way too deep as well as the music video and it is very emotional. I think the piano represent the person he loves that he keep holding on to it, despite the big waves coming which acts like the problems, heartache and such that keeps their relationship drowning down and looks like he is the only one trying to save it and the other one already gave up thus making him broke by himself and in the end, he just embraced it. He embraced his broken heart.
