We are using many of the same curriculums! I just jumped into starting a KZbin channel of my own and shared what I am using for my 4th grader, 2nd grader, and kindergartener. 😊 We are in a very similar stage of life! ❤

Thank you for sharing the curriculums and things you use for each year level. I would be interested to see what each day looks like for each stage of learning. Eg. What your preschooler does each day. I’m starting the homeschooling journey, and whilst every child is different, it would be good to see how each day of schooling is structured and roughly how much content to cover each day. Thank you so much 😊

Hi Tabitha!!! I wanted to thank you sooo much for directing me to CLE for a beginner reader rather than the TGATB. My 1st grader is using the "Learning to Read" Unit, and so far, it is phenomenol. I prayed to the Lord for direction, and He answered. ❤🎉❤🎉 (P.S. You suggested it to me in another post. Lol)

I’ve done TGTB wind and waves last year and am currently doing field and flowers with my kids (we currently in first grade ages 5 and 6). We love it. We do science 1x per week and the lessons are short but informative and my kids have been able to talk about the things they have learned months later and have been able to identify things around us that they been able to remember.

I did the same with my 4 year old when learning letter sounds. Once she mastered all the sounds then we introduced the upper, lower, and identification. She’s 4.5 and can read BOB books already. We started letter sound flash cards at 2.

Love me some homeschool curriculum haul!! We use Aquinas Learning for our core and we are blessed to have a center here so we meet once a week. You might be interested in the TAN publishing series. They have great Catholic Science, History, and Bible/Catechism series. And they have all the options, texts, audio, video. So beautiful! We use IEW, All about spelling and reading. Singapore Math,(Primary Mathmatics) but because of you we start with Abeka. We love Explode the Code for early years. Also, we use the book, "Memorize the Faith" EVERY CATHOLIC SHOULD OWN THIS BOOK. It uses St. Thomas Aquinas' method of memorization. My kindergartners have the ten commandments memorized during lunch in one day. It's so great. We also started using Fix It! Grammar! love it! Love the water color books and some of the ABC books! They will be first day of school books for the kids. Our youngest five are homeschooled with Aquinas Learning, then I have three boys in an amazing Classical Christian School my husband attended (Trinity at River Ridged) and then my oldest, who just graduated is moving out of state for college. We are all over the place and have been in all the places, lol!

I'm glad you said that about TGTB pre-k uppercase/lowercase. We just started this program and I haven't liked all the uppercase/lowercase stuff. Glad to hear my instinct is probably right and we can just stick with the short sounds.

Yeah way too much for a preschooler! It all comes together eventually and short sound is the most important!

LOVE fix it grammar! IEW is the best program for writing as well. I also love that Andrew Pudewa is a trad. We use Our Lady of Victory for literature and the Catholic Textbook Project books for History and Latina Christiana through Bellarmine studies- he’s a trad who teaches online classes for homeschoolers. I used to do the Good and the Beautiful for everything but switched over to TAN science (and IEW for grammar and writing) and love them so much more, especially since they incorporate saints and virtues into the each lesson (TAN). We use the correspondence Catechism through Our Lady of Fatima as well! Love the sisters!!!

My five year old loves the CLE kindergarten 2. We started with 1 and it felt like a waste of time because while we hadn’t done formal school he definitely already knew a lot of that stuff. So we regrouped and I decided to just skip ahead to the kindergarten 2 of CLE and it’s doing great for us. It takes longer since it’s 1 session in the book, 1 session in the activity book, 1 session back in the lesson book for a total of 3 sessions equaling 1 lesson. We also do math with confidence kindergarten 4 days a week (mon-thurs) the Bible story book and coloring book from rod and staff, and on MWF we do the 100 easy lessons to teach your child to read. When those lessons get too long we just do half. And that’s plenty for us lol

With all that literature how many hours a day do they spend doing school work, in order to get through the books at the end of the year. Can you do a video on how you do grades and keep records on how they’re doing in school. I’m new at all of this!

I only have one child who is 6. I started with her when she was 4 too cuz she was well beyond ready. She always had older friends (a year or two older) and bery mature for her age. Over the years her attention span obviously got better but even at 4 she was doing well for her age. So it really depends on the child and if they are gung-ho about doing school
