The Youngest Talking Baby Said Hello at 8 Weeks Old | This Morning

Little Charlie-John Taylor-Mullington might only be eight weeks old, but he’s already started talking! His parents Caroline and Nick claim the newborn can already say “hello” - and luckily they’ve caught it on camera. The proud parents join us with baby Charlie-John to tell us more.

My daughter said hello at 7 weeks. So did another baby, in 2015, so this is definitely not the youngest to say a word. Still adorable!

I have a video of my daughter saying "walking" at 6-7 weeks old. I believe it may be the earliest ever spoken... but there are so many of these stories that there's no true way to tell. We also have lost all the original digital equipment involved with recording that, so we can't document the exact date... but she was born mid June, and the video was taken at the end of July, the very first video recorded from our first digital camera, the day we got home from a tech conference that we bought it at. I was just playing with my daughter, where I would ask her if she wanted to "go walking?", which meant I would pick her up and let her "walk" down the bed with her feet. She seemed to love doing it. It just so happened, that as my daughter's mother opened the digital camera to test how it worked, I asked my daughter if she wanted to "go walking?", and you can see/her respond by saying "walking" and twisting her wrist as she says it indicating a true intent to speak. It was an unbelievable moment, timed out to perfection, but, not entirely shocking to us, because she was blowing away all those development standards we were shown. We were getting used to those surprises happening regularly. She came out with a full head of hair, she pushed her head up to look around in the hospital, she rolled over on her own 2nd day home from the hospital, she said that 1st word at 6-7wks, she was fully talking at 4mo., she was also was walking on her own at 6mo... mathematically, she learned to add at 1, subtract at 2, multiply at 4, long division at 5, when she was 6 she solved an algebraic equation... she was relatively late to read, and only picked it up at 4yo, but tested in Kindergarten to be reading on a 3.75 grade reading level. There were many others, too, but it's been 20yrs so I don't remember all of them off the top of my head. This was just part in parcel of that whole experience for us. When you show people the video, there are always those jealous skeptics who say that she isn't really talking... just mimmicking the sounds... but isn't that all talking is? We just get better at doing it as we develop, but we still just hear sounds and put our tongues in positions and mimmick the sounds. No one is saying she was giving a dissertation, just stating that she said her first word... similar with how other babies say dada, mama, hello, etc. just they usually do it much later on... while she started at 6-7wks old.

The problem is I've heard our kid say words to but it just happens to be in the moment... not unless it's something that repeated I'd say it's legit.

Sorry, but this baby didn't say anything. Almost every relatively healthy baby can make these noises, it's not a "hello", people just want to think something remarkable happened when it didn't. My baby makes a noise that sounds like "Hi" and of course we say hi all the time, so it sounds like he's responding. He's not, it's a coincidence.
