Director Reacts - Stray Kids - 'Back Door' MV

Going into Skz storyline lore, the "security guard" is presumed to be a character nicknamed Captain Hook. He appears in the mvs for Miroh, Side Effects (just the album trailer and mv teaser though), All In and Back Door. It's always the same actor, but he plays slightly different characters, all representing "the system" Skz are fighting against. He got the nickname Captain Hook, because in the Side Effects teaser and All In mv you can see the hook tattoo on the back of his right hand. In this mv, while Skz keep flipping the switch and inviting/rescuing the people in white through the back door, he keeps flipping the switch back, e.g. at 14:09.

I needed someone to tell him this during the live! god I suffered the whole video since he asked 💀 the guy is the one pulling the switch down turning off the lights trying to "cancel" them while the kids continue to pull it back up when he's not looking, thank you for explaining! I think the director, in this case, Bang Jae-yeob, deserves more recognition. Everyone talks about what great MVs Stray Kids have, but nobody ever mentions the director.

They are kings of transitions, because they dance so perfect. If they didn't the transitions wouldn't fit so well and it wouldn't look as good. It's amazing the amount of time and effort it takes to hit the same exact movement over and over so perfectly after changing clothes, sets etc, to make the transition so seamless. It's like trying to make copies without a printer.

this was the song that got me into stray kids. I remember youtube kept recommending me the video right when it came out and I was like "uhuh, ok, we'll see" (as someone who didn't like much kpop for various reasons). But once I watched the video I was just like "Oh these guys GET IT" edit: I'm also just a sucker for a good bass line, so youtube gave me the perfect introductory song from them. I even have a playlist just of songs with bass lines I love.

I have to laugh because one of my favorite bass singers, Geoff Castelluci, actually does have some short stories available on his KZbin channel that many of his fans use as bedtime stories. (If you haven't heard Geoff sing, I absolutely recommend him. Not Kpop; he is an American bass singer. He sings bass for the group VoicePlay and has done some amazing deep bass covers of songs like Rains of Castemere from Game of Thrones, Over the Misty Mountains Cold from The Hobbit, Way Down by Elvis Presley, and many others. VoicePlay has done amazing covers as well, like Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, Valhalla Calling by Miracle of Sound, and a bunch of Disney covers. I adore Stray Kids. I sincerely hope that Felix continues to sing because he's early 20s right now. His voice, if he continues to work it carefully, will get deeper and richer as he ages.

There are some things only Koreans will get in their music videoes. Lyics usually have layers of meaning. The ending scene with IN with golden chinese letter ‘Saeng’ which means ‘life’, read as In-Saeng. It is a Korean word for human life, and it can also means In Live. Also their Korean titles perfectly match their lyrics, while English titles are completely different. Sorikkun, which means musicians, is translated as Thunderous. The title fits the song, but doesn’t align the lyric all that well. Venom is originally spider web in Korean title. i wish they didn’t do that.
