@Dustin Williams sucks about 5th & reverse, really is common with 32 & 33 Gtr’s. I’d highly suggest a 6 speed Getrag(like my 34 Gtr one) but they’re so expensive now. So I’d lean towards a sequential or at least dog box gears for at least weaker ones like 3rd & 5th

That's why it is the most crucial thing after all installation is to Test everything on the Car before going to the Track. That's what I use to do before going to the Track with my Mates, leave at least 1~2 days ahead of Track Day to make sure everything is working fine. Preparation is Everything to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Those suspension parts looked over complicated but I can see a fix right away, make the inner bolt length longer so they go into the aluminium block so it isn't just a double threaded collar taking all the stress that has multiple weak spots.

Bummer about the trans. From my experience with race cars, I'd get all 4 tires off the ground and get the transmission up to temp. It saves lots of components or at least pro longs their life. Good luck in the next one.

hopefully dut and tim can get a new shifter/shift knob when they replace the trans. haha! seeing the tape shifter at this event made me smile

Check the alternator Dustin - battery voltage drops below 11 in some places and the injectors and fuel pump won't like that (lean conditions). Could hurt something if left unchecked.
@gateaccess8182 жыл бұрын
@13:52 those are no good. you should go with the GK-tech adjustable uppers. they allow for slight articulation in the part during compression and decompression of the suspension during travel. they are also a far more solid design, the ones you have are fancy looking but not designed well for its application.

the r32 gtr 5 speed gearbox is pretty known for blowing if you push over 500hp with aggressive shifting. tho the r34 gtr gearbox is a amazing upgrade

As a 90's era big single turbo RB26 owner, you haven't lived if you could only rev to 6k. Third gear will feel immensely good when you can rev it all the way out.

first off with the trans issues sequential time??? it was an awesome experience to see the attack 32 and you in person. the 32 in person is an absolute beast and you even with everything happening and right after the suspension broke you still took the time to talk to us fans. your whole attitude towards the car and us fans was super positive couldn't ask for a better experience
@Nikkoz332 жыл бұрын
Glad to see the suspension was able to get fixed track side! I know you love your jdm old school hks turbo but I highly suggest upgrading to something more responsive. Traction and powering out of turns is your best friend and having a predictable more linear boost curve will help tremendously.

You use random parts for suspension and the gtr trans is a known weakness over a certain power unless strengthened. The cars are proven reliable. Keep it simple in my opinion and it will perform as you expect 👌

Gidday Dustin, man I would assume the transmission prob is with the change mechanism.A broken gear, selector or shaft bearing would not last long at all when its at the point of not selecting a gear already.Maybe a bit more pressure on that section of the change system with you not coming from RHD.Not that I have seen inside the GTR box but I can imagine it would be a nice piece of kit as Japanese gearboxes are good.Very reliable.Thanks man great vid and if nothing ever broke it would be boring,would'nt it.Look at what happened ,car prob.actions from Tom ,yourself bits arrive, while time spent going over, why the bit broke to start with and idea's to fix it.GTR's only as good as they are because they broke the first one.

Def should consider getting a newer tech turbo Dut, the technology has come so far from those old HKS turbos they sound sick and make cool peak power but a new garret or even a precision or Xonarotor turbo would be killer on your car! Glad nothing catastrophic happened with the control arms breaking! Super scary, I’ve witnessed it happen before and the cars never turn out so lucky! I would make habit of checking all these parts for wear n tear before you go out for a track weekend brotha

@cd5sircoupe2 жыл бұрын
Ugh. Reminds me of when my GK Tech upper control arm's top bolt decided to snap for no reason. I got some replacements for it, didn't have loctite the day they were changed, but I drove about 8 light duty miles before I went in and got the loctite on. The replacement bolt was literally about to yeet itself out. Similar situation happened with my rear GK arms. One arm had the heim joint explode, another snapped much like these did in the video. I've since replaced one pair with SPL but that shit's expensive so I'm taking it a pair at a time. Eventually I'll have all the GK junk off of the car.

At this point mate you might as well just bide your time and keep finessing the algorithm making the dope content you do until you have enough play money to give her a complete service and overhaul and put in a sequential. It'll cost a bunch sure but long term you'll be saving money and avoiding potential breakages if you spend the time and finances ironing out all the typical and possible issues that come with 32's by throwing as much money at upgrades as you can.
