I get people saying he seems like he takes himself too serious in a sense that he has a blunt face when listening to the interviewers or co-cast, he almost seems like zooming out, but i strongly feel like he’s just nervous (he fiddles with his fingers a lot and picks on his nails) and probably very intensely listening and processing what the others say without putting on a forced smile while doing so, maybe that’s just how he is. you can see it’s different when he engages with Micaela directly, he probably feels more comfortable with her because they really have gotten to know each other over the course of working together. i am the same way, get told i seemed arrogant or disinterested when people first met me, i just need some time.

I completely relate. So many people make negative assumptions when someone isn't super bubbly or doesn't put their heart on their sleeve on the first meet. I had this happen to me too growing up, and it gets very annoying when I'm always told to be more talkative and people assuming that I hate them or am too serious or think I'm better than everyone just because I'm not smiling most of the time. All the while, I just had social anxiety and got nervous meeting new people. That was my first assumption with Nicholas. He just had his big break being put in front of a very large audience and now he has to get used to having gone viral and being the next it boy as well as being in the public eye in a much bigger way than before, and people are being too hard on him just because he's not beaming at the camera 24/7. Like let the man breathe.

I agree, although the portrayal of Lyle Menedez didn't seem accurate, and a bit exaggerated, his performance was indeed fantastic... so it was hard to be mad at it imo... I'm excited to see if he can deliver another great performance in Grotesquerie, i'm excited for that series, and just realized he's starring in it.

@@Gillian-p2o Very, very well, and at the end of the day, the better the performance the more light it shines on fans of the shows interest in looking up the real story. So people who are angry shouldn't be, I get why they are.. but honestly it made me look into the real court case so much, and at the end of the day this is an exaggerated version told from many perspectives, and it gets people talking about them, and looking into the real story... Now if Chavez, along with the rest of the cast delivered horrible performances, and the show only showed one side of the story in every episode, I would criticize it heavily as well.

They can recast Spencer, but NAC wasn't coming back regardless. It was obvious if you watched his last scene. It was obvious to me with his last scene on Jan. 31 he wasn't coming back. I'm happy for him. I think he is enjoying himself and I like the roles he is picking, but I hope Grotesquerie is his last project with Ryan Murphy. Now, that he is signed with CAA (talent agency), I think his career will really take off and they will help him find some great projects.

I agree. His interviews when he was on General hospital were happy and engaging. He taking pictures with his fans and smiling. Now he looks sad , anxious and detached. Maybe he is tired or maybe it is something else. Both of these shows are dark and he is still a new actor. Maybe it is taking toll on him.
