Tailgating here in the UK has a different meaning and you can be prosecuted for doing it especially on motorways. It means following the car in front too closely. Anyway that kit does look impressive overall. I would have to agree that the cable from the panels to the unit is far too short, why they cannot include a longer I don't know. The straps look to be good and I would think it would be wise to use them all just in case the wind increased which could damage the panels. For the money though I think it is good value. If I were in the market for the kit I am sure I could find it on Amazon here or something very similar. Thanks for the review Steve. 👍👍

Yes we also call that tailgating here in the US, what would they call partying in the car park before a football game in the UK?

@@ThisWeekWithCars Ah well you would have to ask someone who is a football fan, that's not me I have never had much interest in football. My guess is probably 'pre match celebrations '. 'Pre match drinks ' Most grounds I think now ban alcohol inside the stadium but you can buy food and soft drinks . Not a good answer I know. 🤔👍 Awsy from football in the 'old dsys' you would pack a picnic into your car and take a drive in the country. You would always have a cup of tea, being British! Now you are more likely to be invited to someone's house for a BBQ. 👍

Any shading on the panels, like your leads sitting on them, will reduce their output ! If the unit has a MPPT controller then it would be best to connect the panels in series. Much better for voltage drop through the leads especially if you extend them.

I find it ironic that they call the main box a "generator". It's not, it's a battery. The panels are much closer to being a "generator" as they actually supply the power to the battery, but you need the battery to supply stable current for use from it's storage.

I also think that is weird but it is probably so that people who don't know how things work know you use it just like you would a regular generator.
