To make things clear: The low weight of Helium has nothing to do with it's molar mass. With that logic aluminium would float around too, because it has a molar mass of 26g/mol. It is not about the molar mass, it is about the DENSITY.
@EnginAtik2 жыл бұрын
For an ideal gas molar mass is analogous to density: One Mol of ideal gas under one atmosphere pressure and zero degree Celcius occupies 22.4 liters of volume regardless of the molar mass of the gas (ideal gas law.)

It's extremely difficult to cool helium to solid even at extreme low temperature. Why? This is due to its unique nucleus structure where its nucleus would start stockpile up abundant photons at lambda temperature since its specific heat is also at maximum at lambda temperature in which we expect those helium atoms to have very high kinetic energy. In addition, we suspect helium atoms at lambda temperature are also enveloping with rather strong magnetic field where this would allow them to adhere strong enough on the flask's wall. With their high kinetic energy, helium atoms can creep out from the flask by adhered strong enough on the flask's wall while moving at very high speeds. The mystery of superfluidity of helium at lambda temperature has been solved. If you are interested in real discoveries, I would recommend you to read my book, The Unification Theory - Volume One and you will be amazed with lots of new, interesting discoveries. In God I trust.

actually the retailers of helium tanks added at least 20% of "not helium" because helium is the cheapest and painless way to commit suicide, and it's safe to others the concentration of helium in the air needs to be above 95% i think, then in 30 mins or so you'll just get sleepy, faint, and in less than 6hrs you're dead quite selfish to remove the cheap way to commit suicide that doesn't hurt others tbh that's
@octowuss18886 жыл бұрын
Cheapest way would be to breath pure nitrogen. This would cause a "pleasant" asphyxiation - euphoria, unconsciousness and then death within a few minutes.
@yurikz96 жыл бұрын
Octowuss but I have never seen somewhere selling nitrogen and helium is a "pleasant" one too, u don't get the asphyxiation feeling that carbon monoxide gives, and usually you could get by using just a single party cylinder, now ya cant :(

I would like to note that helium does have a reactive compound.. so Take your hydron-collider. take murons, which have a negative charge but are similar in weight to protons & neutrons. and slam those into the helium atoms. They will knock off one of the electrons, and due to it being similar in weight to a N or P+ it will orbit very close to the Nucleus, and the unchanged electron orbits at its normal level, and now you have Helium 4.1 (4 for the MM of Helium & 1 because it looks like hydrogen with a MM of 1.01 or just 1) and now this is a reactive helium atom, However I do not know how stable it is, I just know it exists. So.. take hydrogen give is a proton sized electron (a Muron), and now it acts like hydrogen but is classified as Helium.

I thought that another amazing property of He is that it is the smallest free molecule (because it is lowest on periodic table but also noble and balanced electron levels therefore tighter orbits than hydrogen) which means that as a gas it can penetrate any container. Is this also why the super-fluid can permeate the ceramic container?
@Kargoneth Жыл бұрын
It can (and will) pass through any gaps in the molecular lattice of the walls of its container. Ceramics produced via sintering tend to have some level of porosity. The porosity can be reduced by sintering over a longer period of time and by compacting the ceramic powder with a press.

The secret to breathing helium safely is that after you finish talking like a chipmunk from a deep breath of helium, you need to take a couple of deep breaths of air to replenish your oxygen, before you take another hit of helium. If each inhale is helium, then you are going to run out of oxygen quickly. Otherwise, it is no worse than holding your breath for the length of time you have helium in your lungs.
@nigelft5 жыл бұрын
@@ke6gwf Fun fact: some people whom, in nations where captial punishment is still lawful, are advocating for gas chambers that, instead of using the classic hydrogen cyanide, instead fill the chamber with Nitrogen, or Nitrogen/Argon mix, the idea being to induce hypoxia via inert gas asphyxiation. In fact, as of March 2018, three US states ( Alabama, Oklahoma, and Mississippi) have switched to using inert gas asphyxiation via Nitrogen as a means of carrying out executions, although so far, iirc, no-one has been executed via such means yet. Intrestingly, part of the reason why, save for 'humane reasons', is that it is becoming increasingly difficult for states that not have capital punishment on its statutes, but employ the lethal injection, is that obtaining one, if not all three, of the drugs used, has become increasingly difficult, due to companies unwilling to supply drugs for use in executions, as opposed to anaesthesia. Whether or not more states opt for inert gas asphyxiation as a means of execution means companies producing said gas refusing to supply for such means is one far from yet answered ... In addition, the use of inert gas asphyxiation may be used as a far less stressful, ergo humane, method of slaughtering animals for food, abet still comparatively expensive one ... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inert_gas_asphyxiation

Helium, like hydrogen, is very difficult to contain. The superfluidity also makes it challenging to directly measure the volume of superfluidic helium stored within a container. You have to do things like measure the electrical resistance of a wire within the container. Lower resistance means more helium.
