25:31 I think delta should have 8 terms in your example, since N=4

I didn't understand why, n>N, could you give an explanation?

Thanks I was looking about the Thomae's function so long ago..

21:37 You meant to say that we've proven that the function is discontinuous at any ))rational(( number. Thanks for the video!

why does the delta example set start with 2's as the denominator and not 1's?

I agree. 25:31 I think delta should have 8 terms in your example, since N=4

Will you refer a text book in which continuity of popcorn function discussed in step by step manner ? Please.
@DouglasHarder4 жыл бұрын
I've never seen the function described in a textbook. Prof. Holbrook described the function in my first-year calculus course over 29 years ago. It's a standard delta-epsilon proof with a judicious choice of delta.

Ok , but would you refer at least one textbookof basic real analysis ?

How are you saying that 'a ' is less than 'n/N' and 'n/N ' is less than b as you are assuming the existence of intervals (a , n/N) and (n/N , b) ?

Inverse image can't be like z and bcaz if we take inverse again it can't be a function ,to take inverse function should one one and onto Am i thinking in right way?!

What is wrong with the argument?

In 23:31 you would use 'i' or 'j' instead of 'n' (because n has a different meaning in the next slide!). In the first slide is N. Clearly, a nonsense. Apart from that, it was an amazing video, full of wonderful concepts and valuable graphical explanations. Thank you.

Thank you for the video. There's a lot of excellent information here, but could you please re-do it without misspeaking so often? It's hard to follow when you keep correcting the words you're saying.
