The Thomann is not too far behind the Yamaha actually in terms of sound. I order from Thomann’s a lot actually. Always fast delivery to Sweden plus they always answer their emails promptly. I am not sure about the bass recorder prices. However, I’ve purchased Thomann brand before at a much cheaper price to give the instrument a try. It f I liked and stuck with it, then I would invest in a brand named option. Thank-you for sharing this.

Io sono professore di clarinetto e ho fatto strumentazione per banda. Per me gli strumenti yamaha sono ottimi per l intonazione ma sono molto freddi. Vanno bene per la qualità media,ma sulle alte qualità non sono comparabili(per me).

I think that I prefer the sound of the Thomann. For separating the parts of the Yamaha, a pair of rubber gloves could help. I keep a pair of dishes gloves in the case of my great bass, otherwise I definitely cannot disassemble it.

I would not consider the ease of disassembling an advantage, because (usually, it's not necessarly true) a tight joint is less likely to leak air.

I can agree with you. On the other hand, it IS a problem when I need to deassamble it. I have my husband holding in one end and me in the other end, to get it divided into two pieces. Not possible to do it by myself. I have had thoughts of sending it back to Yamaha, but I was too fast to throw the package away and try to handle the problem instead.

@@mariamarkazits Mine (Yamaha) is tight too, but with some grease and assembling/disassembling by rotating (and some patience) it's not a big problem for me.

The Thomann is only $109.00?! That's way more doable than the $300+ of a Yamaha or Aulos! I scored an Aulos tenor recorder at Goodwill for $5.88 a few years ago!

What model Yamaha bass are you comparing ? They offer two models yrb302II and yrb-302b . I believe ( other than price ) the only difference is the type of material used . I'm just learning to play , but have already collected several different plastic recorders . Six of them are Yamaha . I thought I would add a bass to my collection . I haven't been able to play the bottom two notes on my Yamaha tenor . The bass looks easier , as it has four keys . I'm still deciding between the Thomann and Yamaha . Thanks for this informative and entertaining video .
