Nice idea to go to their showroom rather than the chaos of Namm itself. Would have been nice to see a few more guitars though. Still good idea.

What's with different companies avoiding rosewood now? Can someone please explain?
@FistOfRuin6 жыл бұрын
They change the wood, but still brazilian wood. Pau Ferro, Jotabá etc...
@gameaddict27446 жыл бұрын
Rosewood is protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. In 2008, the US amendments the Lacey Act impacted Rosewood importation, the results included big fines if you were not in compliance (I believe Gibson got hit with one such fine). So naturally, manufacturers had to find another source for their fret boards.

The Black Metal series is the most exciting thing in this lineup, although they lack a bit of variety. As of now it's only these three.
@kotekutalia6 жыл бұрын
Maybe because these series are new and the company is just trying out things. However I think 7-string Viper, M-shaped with Floyd and Eclipse body guitars with tuneOmatic bridge is quite enough for most of the modern black metal guitarists. And don't forget they are (some sites offer pre-order) little cheaper for this 1-pickup configuration, $750-ish. And one thing: there's a legend that single-humbucker guitars have a bit more sustain and tone because of less magnetic force pulling strings.

@MetalMan731006 жыл бұрын
The Carpenter models seem a bit silly to me. The middle humbucker is of no use tonally and just gets in the way of playing. That design is copied from late 80s Kramer Nightswans, which in some cases also had the H-H-S pickup configuration. Others, like my own, had two humbuckers side by side. Both configurations were a bad idea back then, and Vivian Campbell only played that signature model for a year or two before signing a deal with Tom Anderson.

cutting edge you mean having the cheapest EMG'S in the guitars for decades

@Ghost171106 жыл бұрын
Kiesel has fallen off for anyone that actually cares about how a brand treats their customers and delivers on consistent QC And all of their latest headless models look so off except the 8 string Zeus. They've never fit the mark with making good body shapes except on their tele-style bodies.
@MetalMan731006 жыл бұрын
Modern looking? All they do is put fan frets and extra strings on body designs copied from Steinberger back in the 80s. It must be great to be able to rip off a company that no longer exists. Perhaps they can start pilfering ideas from Parker guitars next time around, another company that went bust a few years ago.

blank pallet2 Calm down dude. Everyone borrows from everyone. Technically, Carvin has traditionally, drawn water from the usual Strat and Les Paul pool, so they are hardly different. I like Carvin / Kiesel quite a lot but you don't have your facts straight.
@blankpallet24356 жыл бұрын
sorry ,If you check out the woods , paint jobs and bridges which they started getting contracts with hipshot of the new era Carvin Keisels they were first and even though others did copy them ,ESP was last to teh race to copy so its like they were actually carrying a keisel guitar lol, everybody say's it ,too,not changing my mind and glad to tell everyone at every guitar show and Namm let them bells ring
@SteelSkin6676 жыл бұрын
Neither these or Keisel's guitars are anything new? They both seem to make superb guitars though. A shame Keisel aren't distributed in Europe at all.
