This song and "Cloudburst on Shingle Street," are his most intimate songs for me. They're about surviving. Oceanea is that place we go, that internal place, to heal ourselves and move on. It's about finding beauty in our pain, learning the lessons from it, and finding our strength in the face of adversity. Both songs are expressions of a bruised and battered fighter celebrating his survival.

i'd add that to me it represents a perfect place of peace, but not sure if i'm alone there or not, and that makes it sad and content same time.

Thomas Dolby knows how to write melodies that utterly haunt me, and stir up memories from decades ago filled with unknown longings. this song, 'Valley of the Minds Eye' 'one of our submarines' 'I love you goodbye' 'screen kiss' are some of my favorites that do this, to name a few...

Mr. Dolby's artistry continues to leave me somewhat breathless. It makes me recall the days of listening to The Golden Age of Wireless and gaining inspiration enough to become an engineer so I could understand the bygone era of then and the future of tomorrow. Thank you Mr Dolby for continuing to inspire with your art.

Mom, I'm listening to this beautiful song, and thinking of all of the wonderful times we had together, the silly jokes, the singing and laughing. All of the special things you said to me throughout my life, and you filled my life with love! Hopefully, I will join you and Dad in heaven when my time on earth is done. I love you with all of my heart, and I always will love you! Dad, you are also often in my hearts and my love is deep and true for you as well! Joel

When I first heard Thomas Dolby in the early 80`s I could not believe how modern, special and still extreme groove-oriented he was. Each record has its very special perspective on music and soul. Thomas Dolby pushed me to explore more possibilities to compose music. That modern sound does not has to be soulless. It can be just as tender & sensitive - without loosing the groove. And man - his arrangements!! Most of the modern composers/producers have lost that perspective - and also the ability to swing. Love you Thomas!

I absolutely love the Pigeon Point Lighthouse - Paul Sebastien Remix of this song. It is both hypnotic and ethereal. I wish the "Oceanea" EP was available on CD as I love having the music physically in my hands so to say. I have enjoyed listening to Thomas Dolby from the first minute I heard "She Blinded Me With Science." "The Golden Age of Wireless" is one of my all-time favorite albums and his production work with Prefab Sprout cannot even be described in words as the combination of such brilliant musicians is a match made in heaven. I want to thank Thomas Dolby for being a big part in creating the soundtrack to my life. I am forever grateful.
