@Drivr3joe: I saw an animated “Thomas” parody where the Fat Controller asks James if engines can take a dump, which James replies maybe uncomfortably. Which later leads to the Fat Controller pushing James to do so, which he does. And it turns out to be excess burnt coal, which disappoints the Fat Controller. So yes, trains do go to the bathroom in the “Thomas” universe.

Actually it does make sense because trains ran on coal and they hav an ash pan suspended on rods called Firebars and on a daily basis they were able to be rotated thus dumping the ash into a container underneath the locomotive’s boiler as for the other form when steam has condensed back on to water instead of re-heating it it goes through a series of pipes and and comes out special tubes in the Cylinders called Drain cogs so now you understand the appropriate version of that logic.
