Nice piece and you’ve got it looking good now. Do you think the handle is repairable or a replacement available? I used to spend a lot of time in the second hand shops in Lewes. I still have some of the items I bought there over here in Canada now. I liked going in the Old Needle-makers crafts and antiques place there, too, partly because my gran used to work there during the war when they made the hypodermic needles. 👍🏻

Your buying videos are bad news, fortunately for me, there were only parts for sale on eBay and as I know nothing about these, I was not tempted! Interesting item and thanks for sharing!

Looks much better cleaned up. Does the horn emit any sound at all? Maybe why the sound quality is decent?

Would it be at all possible to modify the non-working mechanism to actually play wax cylinders?

not really, as most of its plastic, the original would be metal, and of course host the clock work mechanism, it would be easier to just buy an original
