Thomas & Jet Engine Vs Percy Chocolate Crunch Trackmaster Toy Train Race & Crash

Thomas The Tank Engine & Percy The Small Engine special Trackmaster train sets based on classic Thomas & Friends episodes. Thomas And The Jet Engine & Percy's Chocolate Crunch are going to be very popular Trackmaster 2 trains. But has Mattel done justice to these toys considering how they are detailed and scale of the low detailed jet engine behind Thomas. The little clip on face details seem very strange to me but as you will see my son has his thoughts on these toy trains. Best fun is when you have a Thomas Vs Percy train race. Lots of surprises and weird train crashes happen. It's a reminder that some of the best fun can be had without trying to be a roller coaster train toy. Anyway if you are at all into Trackmaster 2 Thomas trains, these classic themed train sets are well worth buying. Get them before they sell out.

Awesome video! To be honest, I like the add-ons but only when they're necessary to the main story plot. For instance, the aircraft helmet from the Thomas and the Jet Engine set could've been used better in a Sticky Toffee Thomas set, because in that episode, Thomas was actually wearing an aircraft helmet when he was dreaming about going to the party as an aeroplane. I can't wait for your next video :)

I like the surprised face... TOMY once did a Thomas and the Jet Engine pack, and it featured a surprised Thomas and a big Jet Engine wagon with a light which flashed at the back. As for different faces, TrackMaster 2 is making some items for The Great Race film: there's Shooting Star Gordon (features a Gordon with a determined face), and Trophy Thomas (features a Thomas with a face similar to Turbo Flip Thomas)

I agree about the much needed surprised face. it disappoints me that they could produce the silly aviator headgear (from "Thomas and the Jet Plane", mind) but not a unique and eye-catching face that makes sense for the set, although I imagine that they just want to keep the 'Number One Hero' smiling to keep everyone happy? Maybe this might be why "Busy Bee James" doesn't look sad or cross... Percy could use a little more mucking up. I'm not sure why they included lumber. Coal is explicitly mentioned and featured in the episode, why not do that? It was still very nice to see them run, though. thanks for the reviews, see you next time :)

Seems a bit of a low-effort cash in on Fisher Prices' part all this. If I'm honest I don't think you ought to be too disappointed about not seeing the James. It was from a time in the Thomas and friends series where the plots, in my opinion, became very dumbed down. Glad at least the show is getting back, if you'll pardon the pun, on the right track. I definitely agree with your argument about faces. Changing all the tracks and motor-units on the Trackmaster range is one thing but why do all that and have no facial variety? It's all very odd to me. I also agree on your point about Percy. definitely not a very good job on chocolate cover. No where near close to the original episode and that chocolate "hairpiece" looks ridiculous. Not to mention the fact Percy was never actually seen moving around covered in chocolate, but hey, that's just me nitpicking. :3 As for the Thomas, the flying helmet, in my honest opinion is a very silly addition. It has no connection to the actual episode and besides that it just looks silly! As for the wagon with the crates I feel like that's an error from F-P's design dept as in the episode the crates were on the other side of the jet engine. They were also on the same wagon, it being a bogied well-wagon, but of course no custom parts, besides the jet itself because making something out of non-standard parts is effort and makes Fisher Price's brains hurt! ...sorry I'm getting overly bitter about this :P In conclusion then, it's a nice thought to homage some classic episodes but it's a bit late for the anniversary and it's a rather poor effort overall. - Jon

Those weird face things are certainly the way Mattel gets away with not giving them new faces... those weird goggles are taken from another episode (where Thomas thinks he's a jet plane)... not sure what's going on there.But the jet engine is really disappointing, I think it's one of the few (only?) one that is not either powered or lights/sounds. And you're right, the extra wagons are just random, in the episodes Percy has open wagons and Thomas only has the jet engine.

I'm not a fan of the snap-on pieces, they become loose overtime and can get lost, alongside the whole chocking hazard. I only collect the MINIS now, but I used to collect TNP and similarly, that range also had these snap-on bits just like these TM2 packs. I do have to say, I am extremely happy Mattel are focusing on the classic series of Thomas more, bringing back characters and these classic favourites. Personally, I second what you said Leo, and would prefer it if Mattel just give us custom faces, custom models and already moulded parts (kind of like the Wooden Railway Adventures of Thomas - Fishy Thomas) on all of their ranges. I have to say though, the newer items for almost all the ranges are becoming less and less appealing in my personal opinion. I think the MINIS and Wooden Railway are the only 2 ranges I would recommend to anyone. But overall, these TM2 packs are decent and I'd say my favourite out of the 2 would be the Jet Engine Thomas. :D

Personally I think the 'hats' look ridiculous, I too would prefer customised faces. I can't help but compare this Trackmaster 2 Thomas and the Jet Engine to the previous Tomy one, the Trackmaster 2 version looks very cheap and basic in comparison. There was also a Tomy and Classic Trackmaster Percy and the Chocolate Crunch models, both were considerably better than this Trackmaster 2 incarnation. Maybe others disagree? It was refreshing to see a nice classic layout without ridiculous stunts!

I had the classic chocolate one when i was younger. it came with a chocolate syrup tanker that was really fun to play with, and the percy was completely covered in chocolate too. it was from the hit trackmaster era so the same as the thomas at echo cave. as fun as tomy, early trackmaster, trackmaster 1, and trackmaster 2 it seems they were slowly cutting costs. so now we are just getting a bunch of "hip radical totally tubular" gimmicks which don't make any sense. it use to be just a railway with tunnels and bridges and road ways, now it is thomas climbing a pirate ship to rescue the lost treasure. it doesn't have the same fun to it, and i know some of the old sets weren't super realistic but they were following the tv show for those ones, and i have seen every aired episode as of now and i don't remember any spin around mountains or harold carrying percy off of a bridge. this has gotten pretty long for silly youtube comment but i just wanted to share my opinions

Also i think they've got really bad the old golden days they needed to keep you got what you payed for. But now you get very flimsy plastic the track seems like it can break easy, you DON'T AND I MEAN DON'T get what you payed for...this gets me thinking will thomas die out cause of this....i say yes...i go to target, walmart all the time i see a bunch of old and new thomas stuff on shelves but i hardly see minecraft, cars, legos and dinosaurs selling like hotcakes what do you guys think??
