For your information, Thomas, they didn't call Rudolph names because Rudolph was being cheeky to them, it's because of his look of his red nose, they think Rudolph's nose was being silly.

Interestingly enough, there is an obscure song released in the 70s about Donner and Blitzen. According to the song, their names were originally Percival and Chauncy, until one Christmas night, where they helped Santa get through a thunderstorm, and got their new names from the German words for "thunder" and "lightning".
