The term was used to for small gangs of teenage criminals, The Shelby's WERE 100% NOT REAL, all their characters were fictional including Thomas shelby. The only real people there were billy kimber and winston churchill. The series is like 97% fictional. The real peaky blinders was also beaten by billy kimbers gang, I live the series but no, none of that happened for the peaky blinders.

Went on a Peaky Blinders tour last weekend. They were saying Cillian isn't actually that nice to be around when filming as he gets into the role so much (he does play it well). They did say it can take a month for him to become his usual self again after filming. Great tour around Liverpool :)
