YOU CAN KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE ! Realize you are a sinner being sorry. Sin is lying, evil thoughts, lust,etc. Therefore, do not trust in your own works to go to heaven because you realize, being a sinner, you cannot offer the perfect blood sacrifice that God requires to pay for sin. Instead, believe, meaning fully trust, that in Christ's love for you, on the cross, His one perfect blood sacrifice, when Christ bled, suffered and died, in your place, paid for your sins in full, past, present and future ! Believe that Jesus rose from the dead ! Believe Jesus is God Almighty, God the Son, alive for evermore ! And believe that the sinless blood of Jesus Christ is what cleanses you from all sin, which purifies your soul ! Then the Lord Jesus will forgive you,save you from hell and give you eternal life ! And you will be sealed with the Holy Spirit who will dwell within you forever! And thank Jesus ! Rom.3:25,5:8,9,10:9, Is.53:5,6, II Cor.5:21, Ephes.1:7,13,4:30, Heb.10:14,38,39, I John 1:7, 5:7,13,20

Summary: - 4 Pillars of Longevity: “What matters as we age” is maintaining mobility, maintaining cognition, maintaining strong immunity, and youthful aesthetics. - immobility is a major threat to muscle mass. - Maintaining muscle mass and strength with age dramatically reduces chance of dying from cancer or heart disease. - Follistatin, found in eggs, helps suppress myostatin (a muscle growth inhibitor) resulting in more stimulus for muscle growth. - Exercise improves cognitive function and general metabolic function (referencing a patient with a new diagnosis of dementia, and the importance of getting them moving). - Metabolic flexibility and nutrient partitioning may improve cognitive functioning. - Inflamm-Aging: Aging can be viewed as a “chronic inflammatory process” and ways to reduce overall systemic inflammation can “slow” the aging process. - The immune system is responsible for clearing out old/damaged cells which is critical before it can be replaced with a healthier new cell. - Aesthetics: your view of yourself has a profound impact on mental, physical, and immune health, which then impacts longevity. - Personal improvement should always be driving by your own goals and measures, comparing to yourself. - Maintaining youthful aesthetics does 2 big things: 1) others won’t dismiss you because they think you are “past your peak”, so you can confer with other age groups, even at an older age. 2) improved mental and cognitive health leading to improved health and performance. - * The first step to self improvement is the hardest! My addition- Just push yourself to start with something small and realistic, and build upon it. Small steps in the right direction, compounded over time, will intimately get you to your goal! If you appreciate this summary, consider taking a minute to check out my channel and see if it is something you might be interested in!

Here are the key insights from the conversation: 1. **Muscle Health is Crucial for Longevity:** - Maintaining muscle mass is essential not just for strength but for overall metabolic health, cognitive function, immunity, and reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Muscle tissue plays a vital role as a metabolic organ, influencing various systems in the body. 2. **Myostatin and Follistatin's Role in Muscle Growth:** - Myostatin inhibits muscle growth, while follistatin, found in high amounts in eggs, can counteract myostatin, promoting muscle growth. This has significant implications for combating age-related muscle loss and improving overall health. 3. **Four Pillars of Longevity:** - **Mobility:** Keeping muscles and joints healthy is key to maintaining quality of life and longevity. - **Cognition:** Enhancing cognitive function through metabolic health practices, like intermittent fasting and ketosis, supports longevity. - **Immunity:** Reducing chronic inflammation ("inflammaging") through diet and lifestyle changes is critical for slowing the aging process. - **Aesthetics:** Maintaining a youthful appearance can positively impact mental health, motivation, and social interactions, contributing to overall longevity. 4. **Autophagy and Senescent Cell Clearance:** - Autophagy, the body’s process of clearing out damaged cells, is crucial for maintaining healthy tissues and preventing the accumulation of senescent cells that drive aging and inflammation. Fasting and exercise can promote autophagy. 5. **Cognitive Benefits of Ketosis:** - Ketosis, achieved through diet or exercise, can enhance brain function by providing a cleaner energy source than glucose, improving mental clarity and cognitive performance. 6. **Psychological Impact of Youthful Aesthetics:** - A positive self-image, supported by maintaining youthful aesthetics, can drive motivation for healthy behaviors, leading to better mental health and increased longevity. These insights highlight the interconnectedness of physical health, cognitive function, and psychological well-being in promoting a longer, healthier life.

I am very dubious about the "keto makes your brain work better" claim. I've not seen anything that shows that to be true, and what I take from people's description of what they experience is similar to the euphoria experienced by college students taking nonprescription "study drugs," whose actual performance is worse than baseline, even though they report feeling like they did very good work. It's a self delusion.
@justinklenk

@@rpearce25 Hmm - I'll have to check out those studies, thanks - but I must say: as someone with huge lifelong cognitive-energy challenges, my rudder straightened out (from say, 3/10 to 7/10) once I began to apply everything I'd ever studied (as a biologist) about ketogenesis - and that included my high-quality cognitive stability and extreme-duration focus. Though still MASSIVELY challenged, I assure you that the work value derived from that state has been nothing less than revolutionary, in about 3 different fields of thought. A high-level metabolic and mental state of relative stability, throughout the day, has (so far) saved my life, imho.
@rpearce25

@@justinklenk I'm happy it's working for you. I wouldn't do keto because I don't think I lack where people say they see improvement from keto. I hope people enjoy and feel healthy from their diet, but I struggle with so much of the "magic bullet" talk around meat centered diets. My other qualm is that with 8 plus billion people on they planet it would be impossible to raise the amount of beef required to feed everyone that diet. Even though it is evangelised as the optimal human diet it could only ever be available to an entitled minority, and that really bothers me.
@justinklenk

@@rpearce25 Oh, gotcha - I wasn't thinking of 24-hour ketogenesis, or a carnivore diet, per se; just employing plenty of ketogenesis, just like I employ plenty of (metabolic/digestive) fasted-state hours. But I do include meat, without which I'd feel flat. (But mostly vegetables and healthy fats.)

Proper breathing can be extremely effective for both physical and mental health. On a physical level this will result in richer oxygenation of the blood which will result in many health benefits and perhaps even a longer life. But the true power of the breath comes into play when it is used to achieve a calmer and more centered being. You become better equipped to deal with life's difficulties and stressful situations. It can also be helpful in times of extreme grief and bereavement. The book “the full breath” of James Francis explains all this and also explains in simple terms the concept of spiritual development and enlightenment. One of the things that can ruin our health and our lives more than anything else is stress and mental distress. If you know someone who is suffering in life or is in great difficulty, this book could help them fight their way out and become happy and balanced again.

6:47 - there are some compounds and supplements that have been researched for their potential to influence myostatin activity, though more research is needed to confirm their effectiveness and safety in humans. These include: 1. Folic Acid: Some studies suggest folic acid might influence myostatin expression, but the mechanism is not fully understood. 2. Vitamin D: Research suggests that vitamin D deficiency might be associated with increased myostatin levels, but further research is needed to confirm this link and its potential impact on muscle growth. 3. Creatine: While not directly targeting myostatin, creatine is a popular supplement known to enhance muscle mass and strength. It may indirectly influence myostatin by promoting muscle protein synthesis and anabolic processes. 4. Beta-Alanine: This amino acid can improve muscle endurance and may indirectly affect myostatin through its role in enhancing training capacity and overall muscle health. 5. Alpha-GPC: This compound has shown potential in animal studies to reduce myostatin levels, but human research is limited.

Totally agree that how you look affects your self-esteem and healthy habits! As I count down the weeks until I turn 56 later this year, I am motivating myself to look younger again, because right now my self-confidence is in the dumps. I have been struggling to GAIN weight back in my face and torso, without it going to my belly first. So based on advice from Thomas and others, I've been eating more protein and getting in a daily workout, even if it's just 15-20 minutes sometimes. And I know that after I finally rejoin the gym this month after 4 years of home workouts, that will motivate and help me even more. I used to be a real gym fanatic, in part because comparing myself to others there motivated me more.💪

As someone who fully intends to "Make 100 the New 60", I approve this message! Great stuff here... and I really love that we addressed the concepts of "thinking of yourself as young" and "being motivated some by aesthetics". Everyone I know who thinks they are old (and still in their 30s and 40s).... IS OLD. Everyone I know who thinks they are young (and is over 60)... IS YOUNG. Never mind the fact that a 30 year old person is "older" than a 60 year old person if the 30 year old makes poor choices and dies at age 60 while the 60 year old lives past 100. It's all relative, and it's very much affected by subjectivity and one's perspective - awesome discussion here, sad it took me nearly a month to find it! 💪

Well, I didn't need to think that I had to pay attention to that sign while wearing rubber muck boots, so I walked into that store and slipped and fell on my right hip. I looked to my left and I saw both feet above my head. I fell with such a force I thought to myself, "i'm gonna be hurt bad", but I snapped back to my feet faster then I fell, probably mostly out of embarrassment. I had numerous people coming up to me, including store employees, asking me if I was OK. Not the kind of attention I like. The next day I was a little sore, but I recovered fine. And then in my 30s I fell from 9 feet flat on my back! I thought I was going to die! I thought I was paralyzed, I tried to get up , but I couldn't move, I had the wind knocked out of me & thought I was suffocating to death! It lasted maybe a minute or two, but seemed a lot longer. I eventually got up on my feet, check myself out, and learned my lesson. I'm a Timex, I take a licking and keep on ticking ! And then, while in military boot camp back in the 1970s, twice a week we would get "duck" for lunch, we would line up with our food trays in front of the chow hall, walk in , they would put food on our trays, then we would walk over to garbage cans dump all our food in it & get back out in formation and finish out the day. I hated duck then , but today I practice it regularly & can probably out run Thomas to keep his grips off of me haha ;) I love your guest shows ! Suggestion for a guest ? Greta of Advanced Nutrition & Health ?

The human gut generally can't absorb proteins larger than 500-600 Daltons intact, and follistatin is around 32,000 Daltons. This means it's broken down during digestion, and cannot be absorbed effectively without being broken down, so its direct impact on myostatin from dietary sources like eggs is limited. The benefits of eggs likely come from their overall nutrient content instead.

My mind set about media/commercial and general accepted thought of aging is that it's all bull shit. I'm 63, a little immature, not looking forward to a day when I grow up. There's still a lot that I want to do with my life and there is no reason I can't live past a hundred. That's the way the ancestors did it in the beginning that's the I'm going to do. AS for eating all these eggs it depends where the chickens were raised. If they were given antibiotics kept in awful conditions the eggs 🥚 are not healthy. Just like the rest of the food that has been passed as organic and it's not. All our food that is grown is no longer healthy we need to really find out where that food was grown before it hits the market and of course it's not possible most of us don't have the means to pay for healthy food or even find a market close to home to be able to purchase healthy food.

I was born with something called a hemangioma which required surgery at birth. It seem i have a weak vascular system and heart. I had my first heart attack at age 37. Stents and meds, balloon angioplasty. Eight years later I had my first emergent abdominal aortic aneurism and a couple more heart attacks due to blood loss and somehow lived though it (because incredible staff at Harborview Medical Center and University of Washington Medical Center). Sixteen years later I had a second emergent Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm even worse this time as I almost bled out this time had a couple more heart attacks and was again saved by the same medical centers professionals. One of the surgeons said my veins just shattered when he was working with them. I don't drink or do drugs orher than a very small amount of cannabis. I don't use sugar ( I use stevia) and stay away from seed oils. Ive lost count of the stents i have. I have a lot of internal scar tissue which is uncomfortable as well as some nerve damage from being ripped open in a hurry to stop the internal bleeding. It hurts to move including walking. I feel a loss of muscle strength that concerns me greatly. I dont know what to do.
