If so, how long can I do it before starting a long fast again without gaining back what I've already lost during the first fasting? Let's say I can eat whenever I want, does that mean I can also eat whatever I want? Including chocolate or rice? Thank you! FYI. I currently weigh 121kg. Dr Berg doesn’t reference the studies like this guy does (I’m not saying that Berg violates the studies, just saying that it’s an advantage of Tom’s videos)…however I think that Dr Berg’s one video on what happens inside your body during a 72 hour fast is more enjoyable to watch while on a fast. He has the CGI throughout the video and that gets you more excited because you’re watching little CGI clips of your body going into hyper healing mode lol. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJnQpaJ3jruFidE

@@wirefreez hey i have had a flickering spot in my eye for the past 5 months, its not a floater and has similar symptoms of a torn retina. ive been to an eye doctor and he said he doesnt see any signs of a detached retina and wanted me to see a retina specialist. i havent done that yet. Im not too familiar with pvd, could that be the issue?
@wirefreez3 жыл бұрын
@@BringMeTheHorizonnn Hi - PVD (post vitreous detachment) is a pulling away of part of the film at the back of the eyeball - sort of like a wrinkle in cellophane - and it causes a permanent floater which has the effect of like looking through cobwebs, It doesn't flicker for me but I would definitely ask your retina specialist about it. There is a simple test they can do with an electronic instrument that photographs the back of your eye. Wishing you well.

I’m type 1 diabetic Would a long term fast be too dangerous and create a hypoglycemic situation,? Ones insulin sensitivity could change quickly,Thus basal rate might be to strong and cause low blood sugar. I do do intermittent fasting, I skip breakfast. But have a really hard time keeping my blood sugar from going really low when I exercise. Which gets frustrating because I have to have a juice box to prevent low but put the calories back on.😕😕😕

Isabella kelsay there is a documentary on Netflix about fasting that reviews this and many other questions. From what I gathered it can help people suffering with diabetes. My grandpa has it also, and I wish he would heed my advice about his eating habits so he could help himself but people who aren’t aware of this stuff... they think it’s absurd. I hope fasting helps you! Maybe that documentary will provide you some nice info (:

Thomas, I can’t thank you enough for this video. Everything one needs to know about extended fasting, all rolled up into a single, compact, perfect presentation. I just finished a 48-hour fast, and you are %100 on the money when you say it’s easier to take the airplane off from a keto runway. I did NOT know about the vitamin component or the superhydration. I will be fasting the first 2-3 days of every month from now on, and I will be happily sipping matcha while doing so. You. Are. Awesome.

Wow, just blown away with the quality of this well constructed narrative with an excellent level of detail which was easy to follow. I've been fasting (OMAD) for a couple of months with just 2 x 72 hours fasting and indeed got the benefits of going from 89 kg (196lbs) to 73 kg (160lbs) for 182.5cm (6ft) aged 54, bringing all my weight metrics in the green zone (only still need to lose 0.5 kg on visercal fat:). Adding a little salt to my water indeed prevents me having a feeling of faintness which I experienced on day 3 of my first fast. Thomas, this was the first video I saw from you but immediately subscribed. Looking forward to more excellent content. Thank you ! Tom

If I stopped any of those things I'd pack on weight rather fast. Hi Thomas. I started with a prolonged fasting cycle on 1 November. It worked as follows: I had a meal on a Tuesday Evening. My next meal was on a Thursday evening, and the following one on a Saturday evening. Then I did a 16/8 on the Sunday. I did this for 4 weeks. The last two weeks I had a meal on Tuesday evening, then on Thursday evening, and then on Saturday evening. It thus related to a 48 hour, another two 48 hour fasts, and a 72 hour fast. In this time I lost 13 kg’s.

@arallskiant99235 жыл бұрын
@@Acularis no they are not a thing and if you want you can avoid them. Oxalate is made by the body and the problem with a kind of stone they do with calcium come from methionine(amino acid quite abundant in animal products). Though uric acid is also an issue (see gouts etc and why your doctor will tell you to avoid animals prot) . Methionine that also cause problem in the guts (sulfides etc) eventhough proteins in general do not ferment well(putrification). Many bacterias also take care of oxalates( if you actually do not feed yourself too much on meat). Phytates also does some good things (for bones etc) but overall we talk of such stakeless and minor topic of nutrition here... Maybe you have hypochondria or base your beliefs on your own"feeling"(anecdotal evidence is a fallacy). @panpiper5 жыл бұрын
@@lenkaawad536 It sounds to me like you are experiencing carb withdrawal, the typical 'keto flu' a lot of people go through when their body is first adjusting to no carbs. When you are not fasting, are you eating keto or at least low carb (less than 100 grams of carbs a day)? If you are not, if your diet is normally high carb, then I would say that is definitely what is happening, you are quitting your fast just as you are going into actual ketosis, which is when you start to gain the 'real' benefits of the fast. For the full benefits of fasting, assuming my theory is correct, you either need to figure out how to get past this hump, or you need to go keto in your normal diet so your body can get used to ketosis. Keto flu usually only lasts a few days, and it's symptoms are much more easily dealt with when you can eat (meats, fats, etc.) than when you can't eat anything. I did a month and a half of OMAD 'before' I went keto. While it was and is a good practice, I did not notice any of my health issues improving during that time. When I added being keto to that, most of my issues vanished within a week or two.

Waited until 22 hrs into the fast to watch this. Thanks for the sodium, water, and ACV tips. I paused the video to get some water with 1/8tsp sea salt and a tsp of ACV. Unsure if I should've taken my bile salts/ox bile supplement but I did.

Awesome & thanks for including a vegan fast- break reference. I'm just beginning my fasting adventures as a vegan, thankfully gluten & soy free as much as possible, and I'm still looking to get the best out of this. I'm grateful for all of your sharing. Cheers

Me too, I have done 2×48 hours. And slept so bad on the second night. Wake up a few times, plus feel so powerless on the second day of fasting.

Try having some magnesium half an hour before going to bed it helps you sleep when fasting

It's normal to experience this at first when fasting. Exercise really helps a lot, especially if it's intense or prolonged moderate like 45mins. Try it out, it may work for you too
