After successfully completing a 48-hour fast, can I eat whenever I want? If so, how long can I do it before starting a long fast again without gaining back what I've already lost during the first fasting? Let's say I can eat whenever I want, does that mean I can also eat whatever I want? Including chocolate or rice? Thank you! FYI. I currently weigh 121kg. I do 6-18 fasting, no restrictions on my intake, and doing intermediate lifting four times a week.

Dr Berg doesn’t reference the studies like this guy does (I’m not saying that Berg violates the studies, just saying that it’s an advantage of Tom’s videos)…however I think that Dr Berg’s one video on what happens inside your body during a 72 hour fast is more enjoyable to watch while on a fast. He has the CGI throughout the video and that gets you more excited because you’re watching little CGI clips of your body going into hyper healing mode lol. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJnQpaJ3jruFidE

@@wirefreez hey i have had a flickering spot in my eye for the past 5 months, its not a floater and has similar symptoms of a torn retina. ive been to an eye doctor and he said he doesnt see any signs of a detached retina and wanted me to see a retina specialist. i havent done that yet. Im not too familiar with pvd, could that be the issue?
@wirefreez
@wirefreez 3 жыл бұрын
@@BringMeTheHorizonnn Hi - PVD (post vitreous detachment) is a pulling away of part of the film at the back of the eyeball - sort of like a wrinkle in cellophane - and it causes a permanent floater which has the effect of like looking through cobwebs, It doesn't flicker for me but I would definitely ask your retina specialist about it. There is a simple test they can do with an electronic instrument that photographs the back of your eye. Wishing you well.

I watched this video 45 hours into my 3 day fast and it gave me the motivation to continue. I watched it twice. Just to think about the health benefits make me want to continue. My dad had diabetes and high cholesterol when he was 50 yrs old. He suffered until.he died when he was 59. My mom died from a heart attack and my sister died from depression. Prolonged fasting could have saved their lives. I am making sure that I saved my life by fasting and introducing fasting to others who have chronic illnesses. Keep.up the good work,!

I’m type 1 diabetic Would a long term fast be too dangerous and create a hypoglycemic situation,? Ones insulin sensitivity could change quickly,Thus basal rate might be to strong and cause low blood sugar. I do do intermittent fasting, I skip breakfast. But have a really hard time keeping my blood sugar from going really low when I exercise. Which gets frustrating because I have to have a juice box to prevent low but put the calories back on.😕😕😕

Isabella kelsay there is a documentary on Netflix about fasting that reviews this and many other questions. From what I gathered it can help people suffering with diabetes. My grandpa has it also, and I wish he would heed my advice about his eating habits so he could help himself but people who aren’t aware of this stuff... they think it’s absurd. I hope fasting helps you! Maybe that documentary will provide you some nice info (:

The plan was to end the fast if there were any issues during training. For sodium I would have a cup of miso at the end of day which I was told wouldn't end my fast. I went all the way, ran a personal best, and completed the fast 2 days later. Our bodies are pretty amazing but we have to know the best way to treat it.

@@eLm0Panda no you can’t eat whatever you want, if you do you will gain the weight back after the fast. Because of my work and laziness, I was pretty much on OMAD for a long time, just switched to more disciplined keto, and cut snacking lunch time and eating out in the evening. Sometimes I work over 14 hours, come home and go straight to bed after shower, and basically skip a meal and get a 44 he fast without even thinking about it. (As long as I have my coffee in the morning!)

Wow, just blown away with the quality of this well constructed narrative with an excellent level of detail which was easy to follow. I've been fasting (OMAD) for a couple of months with just 2 x 72 hours fasting and indeed got the benefits of going from 89 kg (196lbs) to 73 kg (160lbs) for 182.5cm (6ft) aged 54, bringing all my weight metrics in the green zone (only still need to lose 0.5 kg on visercal fat:). Adding a little salt to my water indeed prevents me having a feeling of faintness which I experienced on day 3 of my first fast. Thomas, this was the first video I saw from you but immediately subscribed. Looking forward to more excellent content. Thank you ! Tom

If I stopped any of those things I'd pack on weight rather fast. Now, I just began a prolonged water fast. During the first 24 hours, I fought my agitation by drinking more water. By the 36th hour, the hunger pains had, for the most part subsided, and my brain function skyrocketed. I'm feeling pretty confident in reaching the 72 hour milestone. I may go farther.

Hi Thomas. I started with a prolonged fasting cycle on 1 November. It worked as follows: I had a meal on a Tuesday Evening. My next meal was on a Thursday evening, and the following one on a Saturday evening. Then I did a 16/8 on the Sunday. I did this for 4 weeks. The last two weeks I had a meal on Tuesday evening, then on Thursday evening, and then on Saturday evening. It thus related to a 48 hour, another two 48 hour fasts, and a 72 hour fast. In this time I lost 13 kg’s.

@@Acularis no they are not a thing and if you want you can avoid them. Oxalate is made by the body and the problem with a kind of stone they do with calcium come from methionine(amino acid quite abundant in animal products). Though uric acid is also an issue (see gouts etc and why your doctor will tell you to avoid animals prot) . Methionine that also cause problem in the guts (sulfides etc) eventhough proteins in general do not ferment well(putrification). Many bacterias also take care of oxalates( if you actually do not feed yourself too much on meat). Phytates also does some good things (for bones etc) but overall we talk of such stakeless and minor topic of nutrition here... Maybe you have hypochondria or base your beliefs on your own"feeling"(anecdotal evidence is a fallacy). I started with 5day water fast once per month and OMAD low carb diet between + heavy workouts 3 times per week + light ones every day. Now I am on my fourth fast (day 3), this time aiming for AT LEAST 7 days, preferably 14. I just missed fasting after those first three, because it makes you feel so goood. I feel great now and I am really happy (I've restarted whole organism and also lost 28,5 kgs/62,8 lbs in less than 4 months - starting from 115,5 kgs/254,6 lbs on 21.4.2019). I wish strong will and unending motivation to everybody who does have courage to change lifestyle this dramatically - it is WORTH IT! ;)

Intermittent fasting daily, 48 hour fasts once a month and 72 hour fasts once every 3 months for the stem cell regeneration. Apart from that, 3 days of keto every month leading up to the longer fast. I guess that should do it. Did I miss out on anything, Thomas?

if anyones wondering if you should actually do what he suggets and delay a prolonged fast in order to go low carb for a few days first the answer is YES. I've tried it both ways. When I was already eating low carb I wasn't starving during the prolonged fast and just zoomed right past my goal by an hour or so. It's definitely a test of will power without going low carb first.

I do OMAD daily for past two months with no problem but when I attempt to do 48 hours fast I start feeling not well and go eat after 36 hours. I do not feel hungry at all,my body is well adjusted but once I go over 24 hours I start feeling lightheaded and irritated,cold and shaky. I tried salt in water with ACV but it doesn’t help me much.

@@lenkaawad536 It sounds to me like you are experiencing carb withdrawal, the typical 'keto flu' a lot of people go through when their body is first adjusting to no carbs. When you are not fasting, are you eating keto or at least low carb (less than 100 grams of carbs a day)? If you are not, if your diet is normally high carb, then I would say that is definitely what is happening, you are quitting your fast just as you are going into actual ketosis, which is when you start to gain the 'real' benefits of the fast. For the full benefits of fasting, assuming my theory is correct, you either need to figure out how to get past this hump, or you need to go keto in your normal diet so your body can get used to ketosis. Keto flu usually only lasts a few days, and it's symptoms are much more easily dealt with when you can eat (meats, fats, etc.) than when you can't eat anything. I did a month and a half of OMAD 'before' I went keto. While it was and is a good practice, I did not notice any of my health issues improving during that time. When I added being keto to that, most of my issues vanished within a week or two.
