A behind the scenes vlog showing that all is not plain sailing in the world of Landscape Photography. Poor light, a storm, a blizzard, a damaged 10 stop & a damaged polarizer. Canon 5D MK III is well weather sealed though, so not all bad.

Easily the best think about all Thomas's videos is his honesty. If he faces challenges we see them, they are not hidden as with some on KZbin. He doesn't pretend he has all the answers and gets it right 100% of the time. What he does show though is that even on a s%*# day in Northumberland, if you try there is still a decent shot there if you are willing to persevere.

Thank you so much for uploading this video even if the day was a disaster. It sucks that you had to struggle, but it is very helpful to see how it doesn't always work out as planned and you just have to cut your losses and try again another day. On top of that you were able to come back with a couple stunning images. Cheers!

As an aspiring landscape photographer, you have no idea how relieved I am you posted a video like this. I've lost count of the amount of trips out that I've had like this that have ended up with no shots. I even had a similar experience of losing a filter while perched on a rocky crag in the Honister Pass that saw me chasing it down the hillside.

Videos like these are really quite valuable. As a n00b to photography you kind of expect to go somewhere and point a camera at something and come away with a stonkingly good image. Its reassuring to see that actually the really good images (that I can't ever achieve) are due, in part at least, to the immense amount of thought and effort that you've put in to them.

I love the fact that a beep was used in the audio. It is refreshing to find a channel on KZbin that I can follow which is free of certain words. The fact that I can be watching your videos in the living room and can trust that my children won't get bombarded with profanities is just fantastic. As a man of faith first and then everything else second I thank you and love the videos.

Good video in that this just shows that photography isn't always simple and easy. Trial and error, fail attempts, etc. It takes many tries and not all will end in a happy ending. But when you do get a good one, it makes all the more satisfying! Keep going forward Thomas!

I used to work out of a back pack when doing landscape, but one day I opened my filter wallet to discover my 77mm polorizer & 10 stop ND filter were smashed. Thus as much as it hurt I replaced the filters to the tune of $500. & purcahsed a small Pelican case just for my filters it works very well in the field. Thanks again for another wonderful video.

Enjoy your channel very much. Two suggestions: 1.Small Microfiber cloths (4 inches X 4 inches - 6 inches X 6 inches) in your pockets, in your back pack, in your car. Make them part of your every day carry and in your kit. 2. Finger-less wool gloves. Gives you dexterity and warmth - keep them in your backpack for when you need them (from what I've seen you generally go to cold wet places frequently). Cheers!

Hey man! I just wanted to let you know that I have been loving every single one of your videos, and have recently be delving into the amazing world of photography. I love how hard you work for your shots, because it reminds me of how hard I work for mine. I love landscape photography (obviously) but the current issue I'm running into at the moment is that the area I live in isn't as "dramatic" as I want it to be. There aren't a lot of mountains, high altitude shots, rocky beaches, or anything really. There is a lot of beautiful farm country around me, but I can only take so many photos of fields and barns, and live-stock before I get kind of unmotivated. To get to any sort of mountain range (as far as I know) It's at least an 8 hour trip, and to get to any great rocky beach location, it's at least a 10-12 hour drive. As much as I love photography, I can't really afford to drive out that far on a whim, due to my work, and flights can be pretty expensive. So getting to my question, I can take off a week to two weeks of work to essentially travel anywhere for vacation, and for my vacation I really want to travel and shoot photography in those kinds of landscapes. So if you were to recommend a country or two in close proximity to one another, for me to shoot Mountain/earthy landscapes, shore landscapes, and the such, where would you go? Again, love your videos man!
