Something I noticed is that Yamai is almost like a reverse Majima. Spoilers: His psuedo-rivalry with Ichiban is very akin to Kiryu's relationship with Majima, but the temperaments are switched, with Ichiban being the over the top, loud one and Yamai being the grounded,, stoic one. Not to mention Yamai's origin revolves around killing his patriarch on the orders of a woman he loves, while Majima's was him protecting a woman he loved against the orders of his patriarch. Both up getting played and go insane, but they lose themselves in opposing manners, with Majima dialing it up to 11 and Yamai dialing it down to 1. Even their outfits mirror each other. Majima's Iconic fit has him wearing shirtless blazer with gloves, showing off a lot of skin, but Yamai bundles up to three layers with a turtleneck, buttoned up suit jacket, and his a second jacket he wears on his sholders; Weirdly, Yamai isn't wearing gloves, but instead we can clearly see his socks (which are pretty much just foot gloves. I hope they *actually* make him Ichi's Majima and have him as a bossfight in every single game.
