Honestly, I think Shishido is actually the perfect final boss for Kiryu. He IS what's left of the yakuza, Kiryu's old life. Shishido is the physical manifestation of the Yakuza, a cornered, tortured, tormented animal who just refuses to give in and move on, who sees only pride and lust for more power and respect, and eventually suffers the same fate at the yakuza themselves do, crippled and enslaved by the laws and surveillance of the government. Although in Shishido's case, his ultimate fate is a lot more literal when it comes to enslavement, thanks to the Daidoji. Its beautifully poetic, even this track sounds more somber than epic as a final boss theme.

For potentially Kiryu's final standalone game this boss is perfect, honestly, gameplay and story wise. Better than Iwami a whole universe away and a superior execution of what Aizawa was trying to be Battle for the Dream and Deadly Struggle are on the same level for me, absolute bangers

At least for Iwami, he's a twisted version of Kiryu. Whereas Kiryu resepected Kazama immensely and Kazama let him follow him into the yakuza life, Iwami resented Kuruse for providing him with an "easy" job. Kind of like Aizawa, they both wanted to claw their way up and claim what they wanted with their own two hands. In Shishido's case it's much more prominent since you arguably spend more time with him and his motivations.

@@miken8875 iwami isn't that. he was supposed to represent the fall of the yakuza. we laughed at patriarchs like kanda because they had no real threat, but iwami is a dude at the top who is ironically the lowest of the low in terms of yakuza, all the yakuza are now are just hotheaded cowards who only got there because of luck or daddy's influence. aizawa and shishido are different because unlike iwami, aizawa and shishido respect the fact that the yakuza has unspoken rules and just want to make their way to the top of the yakuza naturally, whether its aizawa and him just being involved in a plan he doesn't wanna be in, or shishido's reckless denial of the yakuza becoming government slaves

This song seems to me an interesting combination between "Battle For A Dream" (for the calmer moments that give certain "melancholic" airs) and "Calamity Point" (in the heavier parts of the ost). RRG as always giving us incredible final boss tracks

Shishido's fight was so fucking good. In a lot of ways this game had a pretty big Y5 vibe and I loved it for it, since 5 is still my favourite one.

何一つ文句が出ないラスボス 曲が良い 後から考えて並べると… 3以降は桐生ちゃんが敵からしたらラスボスみたいなもんだがそのどれもが桐生ちゃんにわざわざ来てもらってた でもこの漢は一回手負いになった後馳せ参じた。 それでもやはりジャケットには着替えてこなかった。 なのでズボンも八神みたいに野生み溢れている、でも漢脱ぎは様になりすごくかっこいい 曲が良い 刺青が渡瀬に近いので実質、渡瀬ラスボスの悲願達成。 刀モードが終わっても後からまた刀は拾うからゲームプレイが 素手長えなとか…初見は飽きない。 5ラスボスばりに長いカットインムービーと体力…なんなら体力は全ボス中過去一高いですが 先述の通り、刀と素手使い分けるのであっちと違って全く苦痛にならない 曲が超良い そして獅子堂のキャラが 渡瀬にも頭を下げない一貫した行動とか やってたら逆にラスボスポイントマイナスな行動が何一つなかった。 鶴野が見苦しいと言ってたことに確かにとは思ったが、彼がつっこんでくれたので余計なことは頭から消えて戦いに臨めた。 そして何よりも３０万くれた
