Oh wow, the finger grip is a game changer. Here's my tip for perfectly parting hair (had really long hair for years), it's super simple. Before the hair is fully dry (don't brush wet hair), take a brush or comb and pull back. If you angle and steer it properly then one of the teeth of the comb or brush will have made the scoring for you. Then you simply stick your fingers in between and there you have it. It's by far the fastest and simplest way to part hair in a straight line, and it's the cleanest of them all!

Just a thought for new tutorials: teach the beginning from the front, but when it starts to get tedious, teach it from the back. I find it more tedious because I feel like I'm having to translate the mirror reflection of what is being done. If that makes sense. But, honestly this video made it easier to understand what to do.

Notes: Hand and grip is super important for the muscle memory. Your hands do the same deceptively simple sounding thing on repeat. Thumb and forefinger pinch, middle fingers transfer. But remember once one hand only is handling a single strand… SWITCH it from your middle finger GRAB to your Thumb/forefinger PINCH! I started thinking of this pattern: L(left)M(middle)Grab R(ight)SWITCH RMGrab LSwitch LMGrab RSwitch RMGrab (Repeat) Then practice that a lot. Redoing it again and again Then… practice that on top of your head… a lot… Then try to add the hair in… At the same switch step I found was the easiest.

how long do braids last in your hair? also how much should one expect to spend to have this done? thanks
@finnic7959 Жыл бұрын
All depends on the type of hair you have. Wavy cury hair will keep the tension longer. Straighter hair especially if it's layered may fall out or get frizzy after a few hours if you don't have product in. Practice makes it go faster. One middle braid on a good day takes about 1 minute for me, I can do it while walking down the hall. On a bad day 5 minutes or more especially if there's going to be more than 1 braid or other styling things like Bobby pins or hair spray. I have straight hair. The longer the hair you have obviously a touch longer.

Hey, Im from Puerto Rico and i found your hair growth documentation today. I have hair similar to yours and I always kept it short and said "fuck it, my hair is shit" but after watching that, you gave me inspiration to grow it out. I dont really have a defined hairstyle, just about 3 inches up top and half an inch on the sides. Should I go for an undercut before growing it out like you did, or just go from here?
