I'm really a T.I. Jazz-Round Lover on my Schack 6 strings (34"), They sounds amazingly well, warm and punchy. The dynamic response still the same all over the neck (I don't use compressors, straight in the amp). the winding wires are way thinner than other strings, there's almost no finger noises and the touch is very cnfortable, I just love them ! There's some vids on my channel, you can hear the punchy T.I. Jazz Rounds sound on the 6 strings Vs the more scooped-mid sound of the T.I. Jazz Flats on my JB-5. Thanks for this vid Mr Snow Ooowl

Nice video. It contains just the right amount of marketing hype. Y'all picked a great spokesperson. One quick note: Jaco used roundwounds lol...

Thank you 😊 I appreciate the comparison. I really like the Infield strings the best. Powerbass strings are number 2. Great video and wonderful playing 👍.😊

Great Video! The comparison was very helpful in finding which strings are my flavor. Snow Owl did a great job on explaining the differences between the string types…well articulated! There is one question that has been driving me nuts… @snow owl, what song were you playing at ~13:20? My wife and I love that clip! Sounds familiar yet it doesn’t. Curious if it is a published song. If it is, please let me know 😅

Dear Clint! Thank you for your kind words and comment. Thomastik forwarded me your question: The song is called “Shepherd’s Lullaby”. It’s an unpublished song which I wrote for my great drummer friend Gernot Weller whom worked on the “Dune” trailer with me and Hans Zimmer. All the best! Snow Owl

@@6StringOwl Thank you for the reply Juan! I appreciate you sharing that info, too. Thank you for persevering through the trials you faced to reach your dreams… I watched a couple other videos you did…(the video where you made a bass with dead strings sound amazing with the dark glass harmonic booster & the interview in New York.) Those videos helped me with technical side of which pedals will help get the tone I’m looking for. Along with making the decision to try jazz flats on a Warwick rock bass corvette that has John East electronics and EMG px/jx pickups. 😅🤷🏻‍♂️😂 I have been trying to figure out how to articulate my heart through music and how to create music. You also inspired me in this area. Hearing you play shepherd’s lullaby and then hearing the inspiration behind it connected some dots for me… I seen there is an “art” to being a musician that you have. You have a great heart with genuine love and value for people. This love and value is the inspiration to the music you play… When my wife and I heard shepherd’s lullaby we looked at each other in wonder by the emotions we felt. It was like we could tangibly feel the emotions from your friendship with Gernot Weller. Truly remarkable to me and am excited to take a new approach to playing music. I understand the value of things being “sacred”. If the shepherd’s lullaby is sacred I understand keeping it unpublished. However, if it’s not sacred and you end up doing an instrumental album…I will buy it. Also if you ever have the idea to make a bass playing technique and art of musicianship training course… I’d totally go for it too! What I’m getting at is I learned a lot from you and want to make a trip to Austria to learn music composition. Blessings to you, you’re family and journey you are on.

The main focus of my playing is Rock, Blues & R&B, I've been using the JF344 on my '13 AmSp P-Bass for a few years now they feel and sound great especially in the recording studio. I wholeheartedly agree as you state the vintage sound is fantastic!! I also own a '17 AmPro Jazz fretless and the JF344 I do not prefer so much on this bass, I also had a buzzing issue with the E string of the JF344 set on the Jazz fretless that my luthier explained to me was due to the string design and not any hardware/setup issue which I found strange. I re-installed the stock Fender flatwound string for the Jazz bass and no issue. I'm very interested in trying the superalloy and or the power bass strings for my P-Bass and my '18 MM 5HH special. Any input would be appreciated if you so desire. so thank you for this comparison video well done!

Fantastic playing, demo and explanation. Terrible audio mixing which doesn't do it justice at all. :( Voice should be mixed way lower in relation to the bass playing for starters.
