11 S ranks done. This one eludes me. Got 33.5k earlier but not enough. Floyd is a beast. The ability to grab someone and move really helps. Arcade Hard will be fun!

Floyd’s grab ability is indeed really powerful. If you can get an S-Rank on all stages, the 100 Yen trophy shouldn’t be any problem.

Most of what is in this video is the same, in fact some of the earlier encounters are a little easier so should be less trouble getting decent combos in the earlier areas. The main difference is the ball and chain is removed from the fatty room so you'll need to tackle that room differently. Best advice I have is stick to the left when the heart (rolling enemies) appear as they can't actually attack in the far left, they will also hit other enemies with the roll attack. Combo score isn't too important here as the first two areas allow you to rack up enough there, just keep your stars if possible (use one if it keeps you alive) and try not to lose lives. The two boss fights are a little tougher but not drastically different and you can pretty much use the same tactics. Ms Y is more mobile in the first fight, and against both of them you need to do more damage before one will jump in the robot, as before, make sure you're forcing Mr Y in there first. Ms Y is much less mobile in this second fight so she's easy enough to deal with while also dodging the robot arms. Just be careful of the two shadows that appear now when you break the armour stands in the Ms Y fight. In my opinion, this isn't the hardest s rank

The "hard" version you're playing seems to be a somewhat easier than the one I'm playing on the current version on the Xbox One. In the version I'm playing there is no wrecking ball during the sequence with the fat guys & the next sequence vs the female Y twin, she seems way more aggressive & more difficult to hit & on top of that, if you break the statues, those fast, star throwing ninjas that pop out. Ironically these are the only parts where I consistently get my ass kicked.

In September a patch was released and this included a lot of balance updates. It made the game easier, except for stage 12 which was made more difficult...

Great guide Thomas, was really helpful. PSA: The wrecking ball got patched out and the bosses are harder in Version 1.03. If you are on PS4 and own the physical release, just delete the game (copy your save to USB/cloud first, just in case). The game version on disc is 1.02 which includes the wrecking ball and the by far easier boss fight. I just deleted the game, reinstalled it to my PS4 and refused the latest patch. Got the S-Rank first try after trying it for a long time with version 1.03.

You can’t unlock it. This was there is the old version of Streets of Rage 4 and was patched out with one of the updated.

I don’t think that is possible. Digital Editions always install the latest version.

Miss Y has been improved since the last update and now it is much harder to get S-Rank in Y Island but I've been trying. What actions do impact on your rank except combo. Will my rank progress get worse if I lose lives and spend all stars?

Both Health and Stars will increase your overall score. I don’t recommend using Star Moves unless there is no other way.
