I love the comic-book sketches! The artwork provides some good visuals. And Christopher Lee's narration really brings the story to life.

A full recording of this is included as an extra with a DVD copy of the film 'Count Dracula' (1970) Starring Christopher Lee and Herbert Lom.

The images in this video are scanned from a 1966 Ballantine paperback illustrated by Al McWilliams, adapted from Bram Stoker by Otto Binder. In its accuracy to Stoker's novel this Binder/McWilliams version is second only to the Thomas/Giordano version, which Marvel published over the course of decades and remains the most complete and true-to-the-book comics version available. Yet as topnotch as Giordano's work is, to my eye the illustrations here surpass all others in their realism, their sense of depth, and in McWilliams' flare for shadows and mist.

I recognize Castle Bran.I was there a year ago touring it.It was much smaller than I thought it would be.I loved Dracula,The Series with hot Canadian actor Geordie Johnson .It was filmed in Luxembourg and only on the air a year ( 1990-1991 ).It's on Y T too.He did a great job almost 30 years ago!!!

you can tell Anthony Hopkins listened to this, and noted the performance. I could swear I was listening to him a few times.

I love his voice in this era. Always reminds me of King Haggard from Last Unicorn. To some people he was Dracula, to some he is Saruman, to some he is Scaramanga. However, the first time I ever seen Sir Lee, he was King Haggard.

The music makes it feel like a Hammer film. The Dracula in the comic looks like John Carradine and the Van Hellsing looks like Edward Van Sloan

I learned from the other version of this, from a kind commenter, that it does sound like that because it came from a vinyl record released by Hammer Films. So your guess is correct.

@@rm2kking Actually, the 'Horror of Dracula' LP did feature a story read by Christopher Lee, but it was actually a completely original story (made to showcase the mood music used in the Hammer Dracula series, especially the first and third (or second actually with Dracula) movie). It is on here still, I believe. You should seek it out.

i read this comic as kid in the 70'ties. we had a wave of horror comics here in Denmark in the early 70'ties to late 70'ties, then it mostly ended.

There’s something so silly about the “dam-dam-daaaaah!!!!!!” musical cues, but it’s a product of its time, and I guess it was effective in the 60’s? It feels more like a minor jump-scare each time to me, cuz of how loud it is XD This is really nice and well made. It’s so interesting to see a portion of the story come to life like this :)

They did, but he went anyway. It was his job and they tried to protect him. In the book, the coachman tries to get to Borgo Pass early so they would have to go on to Bukovina but Dracula gets there anyway to meet them.
