Saw them perform live at a club in Boston Massachusetts called The Channel, then hung out with them after the club closed the doors. It was their first performance in the U.S., and one of the most memorable nights of my life. They were incredible! Tom, and Alannah were very sweet, and very polite, but I think it was a bit of a culture shock to them. Joe on the other hand desperately wanted to continue partying and see more of the city, but back then Boston didn't have much of a nightlife due to the "blue laws". I think his enthusiasm was a bit concerning to Tom, and Alannah because they were to perform the next night at the Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Absolutely love them to this day.

Cool glacier glasses. I had to have those in '85 too...and wore them daily until they disintegrated. Loved TT from 83 to 87.... Kept checking on them through college, etc....through all the genres of music. Sad that the group...and their marriage broke apart. Didn't know these videos existed then. Glad for having KZbin!

I always thought it was interesting that Thompson Twins used a live rhythm section when they toured. On the albums, it's a drum machine and synth bass on most of their stuff.
@ZEUSs_Paw4 жыл бұрын
Probably to give the experience a richer sound, and visuals. 3:)
@Kohntarkosz4 жыл бұрын
@@ZEUSs_Paw It also occurs to me that the drum machine and sequencer memory back in those days was extremely limited. You could only have one song loaded into the thing at any given time, and it took too long to load the next song, for the purposes of doing a tight live show. They could have used two or three drum machines, but they probably figured they better of just having a live drummer. And yeah, having a bassist who moved around, or could be backlit behind a scrim onstage was probably visually interesting than having a guy standing at a synth doing left hand bass all night.
