I did too. I guess maybe because it wasn't a question and so maybe he didn't know what else to say but "good"...I mean, that's his job, innit? Actors are supposed to be genuine about it so they are capable of transmiting that emotion to the watchers, doesn't matter if it's hate towards the "bad guy" and love and care for the "good guy"...so it was kind of an obvious statement.
