The fact that he has to manage ThorForce stack to get shield instead of having a designated skill for shield and health regen already put this hero at a higher skill ceiling for me. Putting him in tank will also bait people thinking he is tanky, but he is not. I have seen so many times in my games today where I just die instantly when I charge in, playing him like a brawler will have more success than diving into a group of 6 head first. Also I think it would be cool if he could right click again when Mjolnir is in the air so that he can to fly to it.

I think using combat to generate Overhealth rather than just having a “not die” button like Venom is a sound design for a melee Hero. Magik and Black Panther have similar mechanics, which are necessary because they need to dive head-first into the fray in order to get value. I think it would be boring if he had a “press button get overhealth” ability instead. Also, broadly speaking, I wouldn’t recommend diving into a full team head-first with any melee Hero. Venom can get away with it because Symbiotic Resistance is broken in its current state, but Magik, Black Panther, and Spider-Man all have to use their mobility to single out targets in order to confirm kills. If any of them dive into a team, even with their survivability options, they’re gonna get rolled. Thor is no different, if you’re charging into a full team and paying for it, then try a less suicidal approach to your engagements 😂

I think they wanted all his abilities to have a very low cooldown and balanced his global cooldown and resource around it but he just seems slow and clunky. His movement speed is agonizingly slow (hence everyone being just slightly out of range of hammer swings), the cooldown stops you from doing any combos too quick (which is the job the resource is also supposed to do), and he seems just clunky. If they sped him up a bit (either faster base speed, or a way to increase movement speed like the AOE or more speed with more stacks of Thorforce or something), increased his painfully slow movement speed while charging up his dash and during his ult, and decreased the global cooldown to somewhere like 0.75-0.5 seconds, I think he'd feel SO much better to play and from there they can add slight nerfs to compensate or just watch and see how people do with him.

Thor feels so bad to play here is why: when you hit his dash on enemies that are flying from below it does absoutely nothing no dmg no knockback when his dash touches the smallest terrain it completely stops his dash can only hit/push/damage only 1 person without his f he does 0 dmg you cant cancel your f and to dash away or right click to get shield even if you could there is a 2 second window where you can't use your abilities his ult can't do damage to airborne enemies janky hit detection on left click dash and right click I expected nothing and still got dissapointed

Thor is strong, he just isn't Venom. Like a Hulk or Magneto bubble puts him near base Venom level, but you can also use those to make Venom literally unkillable. They nerf Venom, you'll see more Thor.

I feel like you are underusing the dash significantly, its on a two second cooldown, knocks people away. I think the move is start the fight with thorforce since you have 3 hammer charges from the start, chunk someone go in with dash, build up thorforce dash out (cause low cd, like really really low cd) thorforce at range and go back in. Or all in with dash, thorforce at melee range, use shields to survive the focus that you will get due to thorforce at close range, dash out. The throwing hammer ability seems pointless, probably useful for poke when no thorforce up or you dont want to go in.

Why not use the dash ability more often? U do not need to full charge it. It is good so stop one or more enemies doing damage to you (for a short period of time), for closing the distance, and makes you slightly harder to hit?

Just tap the shift and you have a dash every two seconds. Dash with auto attacks and building hammer charges is way better than chasing people around mid range poking them every two seconds with a hammer throw. Derp.

He literally got MVP as Thor on every one of these games. He's the only creator I've seen make a Thor video who actually pays attention to managing Thorforce correctly. If you play him correctly, Thor passively generates 50 shield per second infinitely while also dealing a bunch of damage and being mobile with infinite dashes (which also briefly cc/interrupts enemies hit by it). Everyone who has said thorn is weak I've watched them play him poorly. They don't manage Thorforce correctly and they don't generate infinite shields. Then they whine that they don't feel like a tank.
