It looks like yours is the modernized version that is not made by Fiskars anymore. Recently the blades are made by Laurin Metalli, the same who make the Skrama and Jääkäripuukko knives. These are about 4 mm thick, the original Fiskars blades were 5 mm and had a full flat grind, the new ones have a high flat (seems like a Scandi but they have a secondary bevel). The Fiskars indication plus number on the blade refer to the postal code of the town of Fiskars, where capt. Peltonen lives and has his workshop where he finishes the knives and makes the sheaths. (I have the shorter M07 model, also the recent version in 80CrV2 carbon tool steel by Laurin Metalli, that is how I noticed !) Good knives, feel well in the hand. Thanks for an informative video.

The old blades werent Fiskars made either. Juha lives in Fiskars, thats why the name is on the handle.

Frank Schweppe as far as I know, blades have always made by Laurin Metalli. I got my m95 during my military service in 1996, and while there has been some minor modifications for the original model that I have, blades are still made in Kauhava.

Is it possible that you are testing some more Scandinavian knives?

Hallo Frits, I would like to, is there any produceres in particular you are thinking about?

Thanks for the test of the Peltonen knife 👍 I found your video after reading a review of a Fallkniven A1 knife, the person who bought that knife was disappointed and send it back. Instead he bought a Peltonen M95 for half the price of the Fallkniven, and was very happy with it: much lighter weight and better handle. When I was younger , I bought a lot of heavy and longbladed "survival" and bowie-type knives. But I do not want such heavy weights any more on my belt or in my backpack. So I found a Cold steel SRK and a Glock 78 , which are both lightweight knives too. The SRK weights about 300 g. and the Glock is only 250 g. including sheaths ! Both knives are not very expensive, and work very well for me. Do you think the Peltonen would be a big improvement compared to the Cold steel or the Glock ? What is the weight of the Peltonen M95 with and without the sheath ? Thanks for your opininon ! Gtrz. from Netherlands 🙋♂️
@Thoristesting2 жыл бұрын
Hallo Johnny, swapping the A1 for the Peltonen might seem a bit much to me, but then again I do love Fällkniven. The Glock 78 i also a great knife, made a review on it and I also have it as standard knife in the danish national guard. its great, but I would take the Peletonen anyday hands down no doubt. I would say it is atwice as good knife. have not tryed the coldsteel. the weigth i 196 g :)

Sorry if it's been asked already but do you prefer this or the Terava 140?
@Thoristesting7 жыл бұрын
Hi TC, I think we went over this in another thread, but I can answer here again :) I what I prefer is what my main use is for, I think the M95 is more a military knife, than the Terävä witch is more a Bushcraft knife, so if I were in like national guard og some other paramilitaray org. I would def. take the M95. If I were to go out in the bush just for being outdoor I would take the Terävä :)

Nice review. Looks like a handy knife. And yes the white barked tree is called birch in English, well that is what it is commonly known as. Peace.

Hard choice, if you have military background and purpose id take the Pelton, but if it was only Bushcraft the Terävä :)

Excellent review Yours always are I have the 95 but find it too long for a field knife It is much more of a combat knife the way it feels An excellent knife though I would have preferred the shorter 07 as a woods field knife It would handle much better for smaller tasks The 140 scrama is not too long as it handles so well as a field knife
@Thoristesting3 жыл бұрын
Hallo Neeman, I tend to agree the M95 is more a combatknife than a woodsknife, still a very cool knife, and yes the Terävä 140 is also mone of my favorites, I have done 4 test of the Terävä knifes by now

Skulle du rekommendera den för militärt bruk? :)
@Thoristesting7 жыл бұрын
@GeneralGiffel7 жыл бұрын
Tack för svar, Den kommer användas primärt som en överlevnads kniv, för att tälja pinnar och hugga lite ved ibland. Sedan sekundärt som en strids kniv. Jag tror den passar mig perfekt :)
@Thoristesting7 жыл бұрын
GeneralGiffel, så er jeg sikker på den passer fint, husk dog på at man ikke benytte ildstål på den 😝

@@Thoristesting Or I may have been wrong in one video I watched on him I thought he said Fiskars was part of the address and not who made it I will try to find the link again if I can and see if I misunderstood what was said with my 70 year old hearing that is a distinct possibility. LOL

@@Thoristesting Will do it was an interview with Mr. Peltonen I may have just heard it wrong but if I didn't then I will have to see who does make them. I tend to believe your version till I can find the video since you were actually talking to him. Either way it is one of my most favorite knives in that size category he really knows what he is doing.
