I honestly don't think he's dead. He got to use the line "We have a Hulk" and all attention turned to the fight between Thanos and the Hulk... then to Heimdall... and, if I remember correctly, no one was looking at Loki when it flipped back to him until he started talking. If there's anyone who you always keep yours eyes on, it's Loki. The death was also too simple. The promise that the sun would shine on them again, announcing himself as the God of Mischief and saying Thanos will never be a god. Am I too optimistic? Maybe, but I really really don't think he's actually dead. :D

I JUST REALISED THAT When Loki "dies" in Thor: Dark World, Thor says, "I'll tell father what you did here today", he says it because Loki's last words before he "died" in Thor (2012) were "I could have done it father!
