Thor got his revenge on the Eternals when even his worst movie crushed them at the box office. 😂

I always remember those issue of Thor, with the Ring of the Nebelungs and Ragnarök leading to the star of Bethlehem, with great fondness. Roy Thomas was my hero when I read Marvel in the Seventies.

Thor plus the Trojan War plus Big John!?!? I’ve got to find that one! Great stuff Michael!

I also enjoyed Thor more when it veered toward being a fantasy/myth comic. "Never trust a floating eyeball" sounds like good advice, too.

I remember reading those Thor stories in the monthly title, with Odin's eye referring to itself in a punning third person, as in "Eye know the truth, son of Odin, and Eye will tell you". Whacky stuff. This run was very much Roy packing everything he could into the stories, from Wagnerian opera to Kirby's characters. They were fun stories but overall they felt somewhat directionless, without an overarching direction. Keith Pollard: clean, detailed art, thoughtful layouts, able to handle whichever book he was thrown into. An artist you could count on to get the job done well.

Way cool tie mate! I'll have to order this book. My bank account despises you but Amazon has become quite a fan of your videos.

Fatastical tales away from Midgard are my favourite. Doctor Blake.. yeah, the whole thing is weird when you've read Thor from the beginning, he just never stays forgotten, like a bad smell refusing to leave. Never liked Jane Foster either, gods fancying mortals never ends well, especially if you're Greek.

One of the more memorable comic book epics of my childhood. Deeply strange stuff. The fact that the Celestials were unbeatable gave the story a real existential quality. I recall there was some controversy about the appearance of Hindu gods in the epilogue issue of the story (you briefly showed a couple of pages from that issue).

Hello Michael Hello. Thanks for your excellent video. By the way, Do you think there's a link connecting the concept of the Destroyer with that of the Eradicator in DC COMICS? Thanks again

I always love a crack about a new THOR #1! Do you make anything of the way DC added new "Earths" while at Marvel it seems they couldn't write Sgt Fury or the Eternals or the Micronauts withou 1:45 t thinking of them as parr of the Marvel Universe?

Good evenibg Sir Michael, Roger and Mr Clock Doctor Donald Blake was annoying, but even as a kid I appreciared his existance to hightened the drama in the stories, just at the wrong moment Thor would turn back into the good doctor., how would they over come their foes. Tony Stark had the dogey ticker, Dr Strange was the arrogant doctor with poor decision making tendencies. Stan Lee had the unique knack of giving his caracters a dose of the real world. He was a brilliabt writer. Just my thoughts Cheers Al TheGoldkeyfourcolorkidownunda
