Marvel's gods at this point are about a 50/50 blend of Kirby and Gaiman. They ARE cosmic space aliens BUT they also seem to run on prayers and faith. Half "Chariot of The Gods" and half "American Gods".

Jason Aaron is absolute beast on Southern Bastards, Conan the Barbarian, Ghost Rider, Thor, and Wolverine and the X-Men. Too bad can't say about his current Avengers.

I really enjoyed unworthy thors run too, wish it originated differently. Like just being told "gorr was right" makes him lose his mind? Also I would have preferred an Asgardian woman determined and aggressively rising through the ranks (maybe with just a hint of prejudice but not overkill, I feel like it's all anyone talks about now which could turn readers away) and challenging Thor for his hammer AFTER the events of God butcher/ god bomb where Thor is slightly uneased and off his game due to said events. This woman would claim the hammer either due to pure skill/ Thor not at his best, maybe doubting himself a bit if he deserves it(including what nick furry told him) Then he goes on his quest becoming worthy again while this new woman Thor struggles with protecting earth and even other heroes because she perceives them as lesser beings. She's arrogant at first but learns what it means to be Thor. Not sure how it would end but I really like this idea. Jane foster Thor was pretty great but the ending made no sense to me.

This whole Godless future was also retconnced to be a separate universe... but also technically not because it was "One of many possible futures" which I'm kind of sick of hearing in Marvel Comics. And yeah through other retcons Gor is just using symbiotes basically.

Theres kind of a status system of sorts when it comes to the deities of the marvel universe. One above all: this is the god, the big G, the creator of the universe, the CEO/founder of existence Cosmic Deities: these are the guys who handle the operations of the universe, from order to chaos to the background setting of space. The eternals might fit this tier. Planet bound deities: these are the guys like thor and friend, they handle things by planetary importance Demi gods: low tier but still stupid powerful Multiversal: these guys are questionable

@@TevyaSmolka I never liked it because, imo, Thor isn't or at least shouldn't be a title/mantle that can be handed down or given away, Thor is a singular person. If I could have gotten over that I could def see the fun in Jane Foster Thor.
