What is the campy 90s FMV game you showed? It looks shitty and I like those.

I like Point&Clicks. I actually play Baphomets Fluch 2 on my mobile phone right now. Played it 20 years ago on PSX and now I am in the mood for some George Stobbart adventure again :) If my PC would run games, I would give this a try, even if I think it looks a bit cheap. But I'm glad that i can watch youtube :D Congrats for the 3K. :)

I loved your review I simply love your voice and the way you flow with the video. Could you do a katawa shoujo review I think you'll like it. It's more anime but a visual novel not that many have played
@thorhighheels7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I've been kinda wanting to make a video (series maybe) on visual novels in general. Where they started, how they gained popularity in the west, and where they are now, with the huge influx of VNs on Steam. No clue when I'll even begin to write this, but Katawa Shoujo will most definitely be in there. Especially with how neat it's conception and development are.

just finished this! i found out about it from your review here a couple years ago. there were a few quiet moments where i was really moved with the music doing the heavy lifting. i really wish the OG’s soundtrack was online anywhere. the new remaster’s is okay (though the updates sprites are awful…)

Considering the selection of VN's and puzzle games you have covered in recent, Hotel Dusk review when?

I really should yeah. I've brung it up a few times now pretending to know what I'm talking about, but I havent even played it yet. I noticed you dropped the Touchy part of your name btw. What's up with that? ...Too kinky for KZbin???
@Tentacle7 жыл бұрын
It's very experimental for the DS since it's touch-screen focused. As for the name change, you'll see soon enough.

Hey, what's the "adult FMV game" at 12:09? I can't tell if it's a Japanese game or an American game with Japanese subtitles. How many other games like this do you know of that might appeal to adults? By that, I mean no fantastical elements like killer robots or monsters. Thanks in advance.
@thorhighheels7 жыл бұрын
It's a game in the JB Harold series. Not sure which one exactly, as most of them never left Japan. As for other games like it, and like this one, I'd recommend anything by the developer Cing. They make adventure games that often deal in rather serious themes, and have a very mature tone in regards to how they handle their characters and dialogue. Loads of adventure games by Sierra are quite like that as well, though many have pretty obtuse puzzles that might be annoying. Also The Silver Case is really good. It's a bit quirky at times, but never in a wacky way, and it always stays grounded in reality in some fashion. Sadly though, that's about it. Japan has loads of adult Detective Games, but most have never been localized.

I watched Hikki's vid on Folklore. Looked neat. Thought it was a western game from the cover. As for these VNs, I'd play it on a handheld. Kinda like reading a book. Don't wanna sound like a whiner but tone it down with the flashes a bit. I don't have seizure problems or anything, but maybe someone else does.
@thorhighheels7 жыл бұрын
Good point actually. Hadn't really considered seizure people when I made this, so I'll be sure to do something else if I ever feel the need to violently flash red screens. It was kindof a last minute decision as well. I was supposed to film something for that gag but it didn't work out, so I just resorted to cluttering the screen with explosions and text and shit.

I really liked Folklore!!! After that game Sony said fuck it and stopped giving money to Japanese devs to make games for the PS3. It was all naughty dog, insomniac and sucker punch. I hate sony USA. We got demons soul but that was it and so y didn't even want to bring it over to the USA. It was atlus who published it
