Also they don’t realized not everyone is bad that is in law enforcement. They see justice system was setup to do harm than good. They have made good and bad subjective based on who’s team that person on. It really goes back to that George Bush quote, “If you aren’t with us, then you are against us.”

@Budgie Cat I might have a certain bias toward police since my brother-in-law died on duty so that is why I mentioned it first. There was time before my lost that I might have agreed with the defund or reform the police without the understanding of what that means. it was seeing my brother-in-law in action and having discussions with him about the subjects. I have had several discussions with people on the history of the police. I have noticed that people like to cherry-pick certain words when comes to law enforcement history. What people forget that every society throughout history had some kind of protector. They could have guards, constables and soldiers just to examples. The other thing they like to cherry-pick is a specific function of the time. It is true that some 19th century companies hired groups like the Pinkerton Detective Agency for enforcement of orders during strikes and slave patrols did exist during Slavery Fugitive Act and part of the job of the early Texas Rangers were to fight the Indians. But the problem is that people will point to this on specific function and take it out of context to push the narrative. They forget that times were different and ancestors didn’t have the knowledge that we do now. I have often remarked how it was great that social media didn’t exist during my childhood in the 80s and my college years in the 90s like now. Most people learn and grow just like most societies do. You have to be careful of the use of statistics and crime reports to push a narrative like defund or reform the police. There is some truth about unsolved crimes never get taken care of which should lead to the question why. What types of crimes went unsolved? Did the police have the necessary resources to handle it? What was the reason(s) given failure in solving the crime? If you watch any real life criminals documentary or how real life murder was solved, you will see that it doesn’t get solved like cop drama. Sometimes, it is more luck or the invention of new technology comes along. When I have the discussing about defund vs reform. I have noticed you need to have them defined their terms or they will moved the goal post. Most of the people that I talked with about do really want to get rid of the current law enforcement system but it is better to say “reform” because don’t want to sound to radical. I have often listened several duties of the police and asked which ones would they send a social worker or someone else other than the police. I have shown examples of how some of these situations turn violent and the police had to diffusion the situation. My counter is more training for deescalating procedures and more community interactions with the police. So the people can get to know police officers and the police will know the people they are there to protect and serve.

@Budgie Cat Again, I am not opposed for officers to get more education and training. But, I would be more interested in the quality of the training than the quantity. When most people bring up two different professions and try to compare them, most of the time they forget other factors. It would be like comparing a steak dinner to burgers and fries as which is the better meal. Just a basic google search for getting dog grooming license in Oklahoma is from 6 to 16 weeks. When I look for police academy, it was about 8 weeks. One thing I noticed that you don’t have to have high school diploma or GED to be dog groomer. Plus, I looked a degree program at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), the criminal justice degree for police takes.124 hours to graduate. So there are programs longer than just the normal police academy already.www.uco.edu/academic-affairs/files/ug-catalog/degree-sheets/cla/cj-police.pdf You have my support for more training but lets make that training count with specific tools to help the officers handle situations. It would also help if the community spend time learning what procedures and legal issues that the police have to abide by.

Imagine the level of selective vision you'd need to have to support a "defund the police" movement in Gotham. You enter your local restaurant, making sure you only touch the handle on the door because there's still a weird film on the wood from when that cloud of Scarecrow's fear toxin blew through. The waiter is polite but nervous - he usually is this time of year; it's hard not to think about the mob war that took place, especially when his prosthetic hip reminds him of what happened whenever it gets cold. When you sit down at the bar there's a newspaper nearby open to a page talking about a riot in Blackgate, and for all you know it could be from yesterday or two weeks ago. Somewhere in the kitchen a glass shatters and everyone jumps, except for one woman, still talking loudly about how the GCPD are the real threat in the city.

Of all the plot conveniences in the episode, the laziest one had to be Mary's deduction that Jordan MOORE was related to Sophie MOORE. Because the name Moore is so uncommon? Because they're both black? Because Jordan is a vandal? Good writers would have acknowledged that Kate had scissored with Sophie for so long that it would have been bizarre for Mary not to have known about Sophie's sibling, but no...Mary had to deduce the relationship based on her last name and her skin pigmentation. I'd like to see a scene of Sophie and Batwoman getting on the plane with Jacob to escape Coryana. I imagine it would be pretty awkward having a half-dead Batwoman 2 there, Sophie explaining that they have to get her back to Gotham because there was a Desert Rose there all along, and Sophie refusing to unmask the vigilante. I rolled my eyes at the "defund the police" part, too. "Cosmetics CEO" was Sionis' original profession in the comics, before he ran the company into the ground, Bruce Wayne bought it out, and Sionis then decided to become a sadistic crime boss. At least there weren't any office fight clubs. How did Jordan even see Angelique's bracelet from her position? Honestly, I'd probably be amazed if she could even make out the Happy Death Day mask. "He's been getting kidnapping tips from Safiyah, I guess." Well, it turns out they share a botanist and a hypnotist. Yeah, I was like "Huh?" when Ryan was knocked out with a punch as well. I didn't even realize that she was KO'd until the next scene.

What this show would have you believe: -Batman was meaningless -All lesbians are promiscuous -Women are automatically superior -All authority figures are bad -All people of color are downtrodden victims All of these are terrible, but as a black man, that last one is especially troubling. I'm well aware of racial profiling, biases, political inequality, but that isn't foremost in my mind, at all times. And when I'm looking at something, for entertainment , comics, movies, tv, whatever, this isn't the sort of thing I want to be constantly reminded of. I didn't expect this show to be good, but it's far exceeded the low expectations I had. I just wonder, who is this show for? I find a great tool for writing is being able to criticize your own ideas. To try to poke holes in them yourself before you let the assholes in the public take potshots at it. You can usually spot them if you're really willing to let yourself criticize your ideas as if they were someone else's. Also,having rules for continuity is great. Most shows have a "bible" of these ground rules so writers don't end up making a confusing mess of their story. I think if they did those 2 things,90% of the problems with the show would be fixed. But this is what happens when you push propaganda as entertainment.

Ok. On a WELL-WRITTEN SHOW, this IS the type of show where anti-police propaganda would make the most sense. The entire premise of batman/woman is that Gotham is too corrupt and needs a vigilante to clean it up. Of all the places to put messaging that "the system is broken and needs to either be fixed or destroyed/rebuilt entirely", this DOES make sense. I’ve watched all of Thorias’ episodes, and finally watched actual scenes from Batwoman... all I could hear was Thorias’ voices, which made it more hilarious. That said, I don’t think I could calmly sit through an entire episode by itself, I don’t know how Thorias does it. It actually causes physical pain.

I actually want to become a screenwriter, and watching Thorias’s reviews inspire me to become a “better” writer. Honestly, I feel like I could write a better “Batwoman” script, send it off to the CW, and then get hired as a writer for all the other Arrowverse shows. Next thing you know I’ll probably be president of the damn network. And as my first act as President, I will hire Thorias to write for “Batwoman” or any other DC CW show.
