Summer is coming to a close, on the Friday before Labor Day Weekend, and for the trains of Michigan's Scenic Upper Peninsula, it's just another day moving the raw materials and finished goods of a natural resource wonder.
Come along for a day's railfanning around the central UP, with the LS&I and plenty of CN action on tap. In this 20-minute narrated short, you'll get a good feel for the flavor of railfanning in Michigan's splendid Upper Peninsula.

For how decimated the UP was of old-growth timber by the end of the boom, it is impressive how strong it has all come back. The vegetation is still plenty "confused" in many places, but it is an awesome, rural area to explore.

Those Burlington Northern paint scheme U boats have quite possibly the coolest sounding horn ever

They're still on old manual valves so they can be "throttled" with different air pressures, versus most locomotives today which have basic automated "all or nothing" sorts of valves. They've also got killer old 3-chimes, that helps too!

Get a DJI product. The steadiness is learned...your first flights will be terrible and then over time you'll advance. My equipment used is always listed in the description
