I think a proper thoroughbred is far too spicy for your physical fitness! stay safe with those.... half breeds-

I apologize for the swearing, after watching this video I see how tasteless the bad language sounds. I must, however, make it known that this filly was in no way upset nor in danger of being burnt by a cigarette and that morning happened to change her life in her interactions with people on the ground and on her back. This particular rider is the guy that EVERYONE dealing with an unruly horse or colt seeks out. He rides about 10 or so very hot thoroughbreds everyday so its not hard to get video footage, but it is rare to find one as photogenic as this filly. These horses are very energetic and extremely athletic and helping them discover their ability and put it to good use is essential for everyones safety.

omg! would Never take my horse to this guy!!!!! LET GO OF HER FACE!!! LET THE HORSE RELAX!!! This is terrible to watch. the horse clearly doesn't understand what you are asking! it's bracing! it's in pain! it's clear to see. Wow!

@@tarirollefson5648 You know nothing. it's not in pain...it's a young horse. And letting go of the face so the horse can put it's nose down and REALLY buck. Doubt you've ever started a horse in your life....

All the faffing with the saddle and cloth and he still didn't get it on right

He was NOT saddling the horse. The day before this video was shot, this filly was "saddled" for the very first time. She never carried anything on her back prior to this day. The "faffling with the saddle and cloth" was actually the rider DESENSITIZING the filly before he mounted her , very gently and effectively at that. This filly was barley approachable before this day and certainly a difficult mount as she preferred to be on two legs instead of four. The rider did very well with her .Even the groom was able to handle her more easily. I don't know your level of experience with thoroughbreds especially when they begin training on the track, but this filly nearly didnt make it to the track as she always reared up in all situations. After this day, she was able to cooperate with everyone and grow into a sweet little filly.

No smokes were given to the animal... Looks no rearing were made until the smoke was finished.... Not hoping for more footage of like it but when you start 50 to 80 colts season its bound to make some footage... This filly injured the previous rider who made attempt to start her under saddle by breaking his knee... I'd say maybe he should have had a smoke....

Can anyone share ethically and with a mature response if training a young filly is safe and healthy? This s hard for me to see.

Lora Jiron these animals are worth incredible amounts of money, that being said the idea that they would be mistreated is not reasonable. These animals have all access to the best of veterinary medicine and doctors. They are examined before starting any physical activities to insure they are mature enough in their growth and development, such as knees and hocks. All persons who handle these horses are licensed by the state and are monitored to insure that welfare of every horse on the grounds is healthy and treated in a manner fitting the standards set by the state. a thoroughbred develops quickly from a year and half on. the need to introduce a rider begins at 2yrs old in most, for the safety of rider and horse as a they become much stronger and less apt to instruction as they get more mature. the typical 2yr old will be started and taught to accept rider and preform minor exercises for 30-90 days and then be returned to pasture for about 6 month's before it returns to training. now with a much stronger and more developed muscle and done structure already accepting rider. I start 20+ horses a season and find that less then 1% ever buck or act violent or become angry during the process. I find most genuinely enjoy it. running is instinct to them and most days as a rider is spent keeping them slowed from taking a run all out during exercise. I love my job and have spent a lifetime now with these magnificent horses and consider one my best friend. some folks are prone to criticise and do so while their own horses are neglected in stalls developing mental health issues such as drubbing and weaving rarely seeing anything past the fence of the pen they spend most their lives in. these animals are given the best and with the constant human contact grow the most amazing personalities! just as there are mean and cruel people life outside the track there are those here too but such is life. I have rode nearly a half million miles horseback, I've been priviledged to have met thousands of them..... would do it all again too.

A horse's growth plates aren't fully developed until they are 5/6 depending on breed... I wouldn't start a horse under weight and saddle until late 4-5 ...Only light ground work ( installing all the correct cue's , manners , and getting it used to a saddle on ground first ) even poning with a nother horse , before ever getting on it... 2 /3 is to dam young to start riding... setting that poor baby up for damage to it's body and bad habit's caused by airgent humans in a rush to get paid ....😤😤😤😤

@@trueheartfarm8831 that's probably why we see these champion 2 and 3 year olds run in races like the Kentucky Derby(3 yr olds) or some juvenile championship like the Breeders Cup win one or a couple of races then we never see them again. Maybe a rare few succeed in breeding but mostly we never see them again.

I would hate for him to break my horses he kicked her so much it’s unreal no wonder she is bucking like that I never kick my horses when breaking them use a rein or a crop to in courage and normally not even that normally I have someone pushing them around the pin while I’m on them to get them moving forward😩

Well Skye this filly unseated all of her previous mounts and this day was her a huge day for her and she loved him. He was barely urging her along and after a few days anyone could ride her.
