Yes. Visit Michael's farms. The one in Kentucky & the other in New York. He invited me to visit. As I have thoroughbreds. He showed me around. Great place. Pls support the farms. Save these horses.

I had the pleasure of visiting Old Friends many years ago and it was so amazing. The horses are well cared for and so happy, and to be able to give them treats and hear their stories is nothing short of magical

We have been there several times. Love Special Ring and his trick! This is a wonderful place and a lot of history. Everyone should visit. But will be sad with passing of the great War Emblem. RIP Big Boy

Tinner's Way, a son of Secretariat, lived at Old Friends until his death. He looked a lot like his dad. (Jan Griffiths).

Also hope the Mosses donate Queen Z once her most recent filly is old enough She would be an amazing attraction and apparently loves fans and cameras so perfect and bet her presence would help support the other retirees ❤️and trust she’d receive great care also, maybe her current pasture buddy could be donated as well by her owners for a happily ever after for all😬🙏🏼

Yes there is a place reserved in hell for those Japanese owners that sent Ferdinand to such a death. God bless this wonderful man for taking such great care of these great athletes.

For ANY owner who doesn't provide a proper retirement in appreciation for all they do for us. Ethnicity is not a requirement.

Forrest Meadows They are all about money. If they don’t produce, they are worthless. Japanese businessmen sometimes suck
@douglasgriffiths35343 жыл бұрын
@@miaanslow7213 I know. Ferdinand's fertility dropped, as it will when they get older. I was really sad when I learned he met this fate. I wish his old owners had the option to buy him back, and retire him with dignity instead of being turned into horsemeat for a so-called delicacy. People suck. (Jan Griffiths).

@@douglasgriffiths3534 Understand that Silver Charm’s owners made arrangements so that he would be returned to the US when his stud duty in Japan faltered a d the family. Ow provides a stipend for him at Old Friends

You can meet and feed famous thoroughbreds! There is a satellite in NY. Would you like to meet Silver Charm?

Before commenting, I checked out the website. It has no information about the facilities or care that is offered. The "About" page boasts centers around and mostly boasts about its founder, Michael, and its deceptive, contrary to what Michael would have you believe, "Thoroughbred Retirement" was around long before him - he was not the pioneer of the industry. The longest and oldest such retirement facility is in Pennsylvania (founded in 1946).There are many others and perhaps better. If you're asking for public donation, be transparent, s at least show the damn facilities and what you do exactly for the horses entrusted to your care.

@@douglasgriffiths3534 Yes, I know that. I used to have a flea-bitten gray Arabian that started out as a bay. His dam was flea-bitten gray. His sire was a chestnut. Tapit used to be quite a dark gray when he was very young.

It's horrific to have any horse sent to slaughter. They serve their owners faithfully & give then enjoyment. To desert them when unwanted is cruel.
@genevievelovell4204 Жыл бұрын
it's great he has a rescue for these horses, however his attitude towards the racing industry is way too forgiving. He's too casual about the fact that, if I heard him correctly, dozens of the horses he sold or gave away were actually sent to slaughter. Why didn't he verify their owners or where they were going?
