Secretariat lost 5 races so it is very possible that Flightline could lose also. Horses get upset in racing all the time. I do hope he goes undefeated.👍

I would Love to see flightline win today, impressive so far is an understatement, unfortunately not being kept racing next year, money wins again, stud values, same thing with Baaeed in the UK, such a shame, they talk about it in the same breath as secretariat, that imo is totally wrong, the owners had real faith in that horse to continue training, one breeders cup classic if it wins is no equal to the exploits of secretariat or some of the other triple crown champions.

You do realize that it is NOT up to Baffert to decide when the horses retire right?? These owners spends millions of dollars and once they feel they have proven themselves, they will be retired to stud duties. Trainers are there to train. Owners and managers are there to manage the overall future of theses horses.

Furthermore, he's incredibly unsound as well as lightly raced and is yet to compete alongside any notable opponents. Flightline could very well be the equivalent of tossing White Abarrio into a load of Nashville's, Pants On Fire's, and Independence Hall's. Of course he's going to look impressive but just as you mentioned, are too his finishing times?

i pretty sure he beat 2 maybe 3 G1 winners by 19 lengths . he ran a sub 2 minute 1 1/4 race that's fast. i'm a contrarian as well but i think your statement is very wrong.

Lightly raced, plagued with unsoundness issues, yet to cross paths with any noteworthy competition, unimpressive times, etcetera etcetera etcetera. Greatest horse in the world? 🤣🤡 For f*cks sake, everyone is tripping! This hype is just as contemptible yet entertaining as the hype that surrounded Runhappy and Hot Rod Charlie...Now, I'm not saying Flightline isn't talented. Sure he is. Flightline is a nice thoroughbred but with that being said, to slap such a mighty label onto a horse who has accomplished so little thus far into their career is purely ludicrous. This horse is NOT the greatest racehorse in training on the entire planet. Perhaps he could be the top U.S. based horse, the top U.S. based dirt horse, or maybe even the top dirt horse in the world but placing him above all others from all other countries, both dirt and turf, is nothing more than sheer American ignorance and arrogance. People go on as if this horse is a supernatural entity that cannot be defeated despite the fact that he has only raced five times (and done so against mediocre horses at best) as well as the fact that this sport is one of the most unpredictable sports that exists. Time and time again favorites lose and this happens because no horse is indestructible and nothing is written in stone. NOTHING. The way that some of you go on, the garland and trophy may as well be handed over to Flightline and his connections right now...And that is a very daft mentality to have.

The horse cost the investment group $1MM. The trainer said he NEVER had a horse like this, so perhaps they were just being cautious because the biggest race in America outside of the Kentucky Derby and especially for a 4 year old, is the Breeder's Cup. They had to know if Flightline could get to the BC undefeated and win it, that the stud fees were going to be top shelf high! That bet is going to pay off in a major way for many years to come now that Flightline is an undefeated champion!
