Well done. I've watched countless videos on my 05 3rd 3500 Laramie bought new now with 510,000 miles on it and still running the OEM injectors. I contribute the 500+k miles to my religious PMS, Amsoil, 2mc Cat fuel filter after OEM fuel filter. My service intervals for Oil and fuels every 10 to 15K. Every fuel fill up (25 to 30gal) get 8 to 12oz of Stanadyne to keep the OEM CP3 lubricated. I have thought about changing injectors often but to data I have yet to experience any noticeable signs requiring them to be changed. However, now that I have watched this video I will put forth the initiative to start making upgrades and DIY improvements. Great video and information. Thank You!

my truck is a 2003 24 valve common fuel rail and i can not get my truck to start hot or cold without a shot of either any advise would be amazing

Could be a few things. Make sure your truck is turning over correct speed - IE your batteries are good, your starter is good, etc. Check your lift pump pressure, and if all of that checks out, expect high rate of return (backleak) from one of your high pressure fuel components. We usually find it to be an injector problem.

Do you have to rotate your engine to top dead center before replacing injectors?

No. Doesn’t effect anything what position the engine is in during install.

What are the symptoms of the injectors going bad?

There are several different symptoms. We look for hazy at idle, knocking, high egt’s, loss of fuel economy. They can be silent killers so be aware of any changes you notice.

I’m wondering if I should replace my injectors on my 07 5.9 as a preventative to any failure? My truck just hit 90k. I thinking a better filter system and new injectors? The engine is all stock and running great and only added thing is exhaust brake.

You have to be conscious of any change in mpg, engine sound, or increase EGT’s. These injectors when they are failing cab be silent killers.

Can you do injector install on a 5th gen? The new hydraulic rockers and procedures would be nice to have an instructional video to replace them.

How do you torque #3 tube retaining nut? That electrical connector is in the way. Worried about unscrewing it and messing up.

I’m having the same issue truck getting hard to start just had new injectors put in 5k ago and already having my second issue I can’t figure it out truck has 5k rail at idle and 15k when revving so it not dropping the fuel out the return but the truck runs like it has a dead miss or the turbo is lagging really bad stock truck new injectors and new cp3 also I had a mechanic come over with a scanner told me the truck sounded good

Check feed tubes first, retorque. If no luck there, I would suggest removing the injectors and having them tested.
